- 1.2.8 - Incorrect Flag UI Improvement - 9 October 2023
I have published this update to try to solve some confusion. In previous versions of the game, an incorrectly-placed flag has been represented like this: Note the image of the mine with an X above it. This is how incorrectly-placed flags have been represented in other Minesweeper games too. It seems that this representation has caused some confusion. Several players have left negative reviews, and seem to think that the mines have been miscalculated or the game is bugged. I can't find any evidence of such bugs in my own testing, and most players have left positive reviews with no mention of any bugs. I have concluded that this incorrect-flag sprite is the cause of the confusion. To try to make this clearer, I have replaced the 'mine-and-X' sprite with just the 'X' sprite. See this image: This should make it clearer that there is not actually a mine here, but that the player placed their…
- 1.2.7 - Leaderboard Bug Fix - 12 May 2023
I've just published an update which should fix some of the problems we've been experiencing with the leaderboards. Unfortunately this means I've had to wipe the leaderboards once again, as I haven't been able to filter out the false times which were posted due to the error. Please let me know if you have any more problems with the leaderboards!
- 1.2.5 - Style Update - 27 April 2023
I've updated two of the style options to be more visually friendly. A few reviews mentioned that they were much too bright to play comfortably! Please let me know how you find them.
- 1.2.4 - Keyboard Shortcut Change - 14 March 2023
I've made another small change to the keyboard shortcuts, changing the key to the key for the hint feature. This is so that it doesn't interfere with the key combination to toggle the Steam overlay. Thanks to the helpful gamer who quickly brought this to my attention!
- 1.2.3 - Keyboard Bug Fix - 13 March 2023
I've just remapped some of the keyboard shortcuts, as I was informed about a bug. Instead of pressing 1 and 2, the keyboard shortcuts for the restart and hint buttons are now CTRL and SHIFT. The in-game advisory text has also been updated to remind us of these changes.
- 1.2.2 - Game Colours - 4 March 2023
I've just updated the game to change the default colour scheme once again, to show more neutral tones on the 'number squares'.
- 1.2.1 - Keyboard Shortcuts, Style Improvements - 3 March 2023
I've just updated the game with a few small improvements. I read a few recent comments from people who wanted to add keyboard shortcuts. Well, here they are! Pressing '1' restarts the game, while pressing '2' toggles the hint feature. Escape ('Esc') can also be used to return to the main menu or exit the game. These keyboard shortcuts should work on all keyboards, so please tell me if there is a problem. There are also in-game reminders, when scrolling over a button, about which keyboard shortcut can be used. Finally, there are some small changes to the colour scheme. Many colours have been changed to be less bright, allowing for a more comfortable playing experience. Style number 4, the bright yellow colour scheme, has also been removed entirely. I'm sure nobody will miss it! Enjoy the game and take care; it's a minefield out there.
- 1.2.0 - New Leaderboards, Steam Overlay - 22 February 2023
This update makes a significant change to the Minesweeper Ultimate leaderboards. Leaderboards now consider milliseconds as well as whole seconds. This is to make the leaderboards more competitive. The in-game clock has also been updated to display milliseconds. I have also added functionality so that the Steam overlay can be shown in-game. Press your usual key combination (typically SHIFT + TAB) to toggle the overlay. These changes should work the same for all users. Please let me know if there are any problems!
- 1.13 - Localization - 10 November 2022
A very minor update which adds localized text to the 'Custom' and 'Start' buttons. Minesweeper Arcade has also just been published. Check it out!
- 1.12 - UI Update - 3 October 2022
A minor update, replacing the volume control text entry boxes with clickable +/- buttons. Some behind-the-scenes code refactoring for on-screen UI icons.
- 1.11 - UI Update - 17 September 2022
I've made a slight adjustment to the default colour scheme. The colours for 'hint' squares are now a little deeper, with the intention of making the game easier on the eyes. Let me know how you find it!
- 1.10 - Custom Mode - 15 September 2022
Custom boards are here! We can now set custom boards with adjustable width, height and number of mines. These can be played in all game modes; classic, hex and triangle. As this is the first implementation of this feature, I'll listen out for any bug reports. Please let me know if you have any problems with it!
- 1.0.9 - Bug Fix - 23 August 2022
Greetings, minesweepers! I've finally fixed a bug which has been troubling us for some time. From version 1.0.9, your first click will always reveal a blank tile. This will help us avoid the frustrating situation of needing to guess at the beginning of a game. Please let me know about any other bugs you experience.
- 1.0.8 - New Style Option - 22 June 2022
I've just added a new colour scheme to the game, which now has a total of 6 style options. Choose your favourite and play!
- 1.0.7 - Turkish and Traditional Chinese localisation. - 6 May 2022
I've just added Turkish and Traditional Chinese language support to Minesweeper Ultimate. I have also fixed some small layout bugs which had longer text strings go off the bounds of the game window. Let's play!
- Kukumushi Virtual Pet - 11 March 2022
Kukumushi virtual pets are here! Inspired by early-generation virtual pets like Tamagotchi and Giga Pet, Kukumushi are a fun new experience. Kukumushi need care, attention and affection to survive and reach their full potential. Adopt up to three Kukumushi at once. You'll be very busy taking care of them all! Are you ready for the challenge? Adopt your Kukumushi and let the fun begin! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1855070/Kukumushi_Virtual_Pet/
- 1.0.6 - Japanese, Korean, Polish localisation. - 18 November 2021

- 1.0.5 - Hex Mode Bugfix, Clock Transparency - 20 September 2021
-Bug fixed in Hex mode: not all blank tiles were revealed when clicking. -Timer can now be toggled to transparent. Click on it before or during the game to toggle its transparency.
- 1.0.4 - Chording, Windowed Mode - 19 September 2021
-Minesweeper 'chording' feature is now implemented: Click on a numbered square. If the number of adjacent flags matches the number on the square, a click is triggered on all other adjacent squares. It's a handy shortcut, but be careful all your flags are placed correctly! -The game now begins in windowed mode instead of full-screen. Windowed mode and full-screen can be easily toggled by pressing F11 (or Fn + F11 on some keyboards). There is also a small text label in the options menu to remind players of this hotkey.
