  • Project OutFox is alive, and our Steam plans have changed - 13 August 2026

Hi everyone! It has been a long time since the Steam build of Project OutFox received an update, so we wanted to start with the important bit:We are still here, development is very active, and OutFox is absolutely not dead.In fact, quite the opposite has happened. Our original plan was to update the Steam Playtest shortly before moving towards Early Access. However, the work completed during our recent pretesting changed that plan significantly. Beta 1 has progressed far enough beyond the existing preview builds that we no longer think spending time preparing another temporary Steam Playtest build makes sense.Instead, we're moving directly towards bringing the Beta 1 mainline to Steam Early Access. What's been happening?Beta 1 has grown into one of the largest engineering updates in Project OutFox's history.Over the last few years, and particularly during our recent development cycle, we'v…

  • Spring 2023 AMA! - 6 April 2023

As we move closer to maturing the game, we would like to thank all our Steam players for providing super useful feedback to help bring the game forward! We would like to host an AMA this Sunday where you are all welcome to come ask questions, and generally hang out and chill with us! We are live on: https://www.twitch.tv/teamrizu

  • Playtest build now open access to celebrate 1 year of Alpha V! - 10 March 2023

Starting today, Friday 10th March, we have opened up our early playtest build for everyone! Whether you play on MacOS, Windows or Linux, (or steam deck!) we have options and support for you! If you are interested in testing, do click the play button and install it. This system is a bit more user friendly than our older 'off discord server' method, as steam will manage your updating and bug fixing. If you do happen to find a bug, (and you will, we are still an alpha!) please report it to our GitHub repository at https://github.com/TeamRizu/OutFox, and have a browse over at https://outfox.wiki/ for general information and hints and tips. Moving forward, the 'dance' mode will have the first mostly completed theme, but we will be working hard on the other game modes to ensure they also get the love and provide a great experience for players. We want to just ensure that the game we put out t…

  • Alpha V Playtest starting this week! - 7 November 2022

Starting Friday, we will have playtest versions of the game available on Steam for the first time! We have a limited key 'pre-alpha' release which is currently being set up, and this will be expanded to the sign-up system nearer to mid-December. If you are interested in testing, do click the 'sign up for access' and when we open up the testing programme, you'll be notified automatically. The reason we have chosen a small key only release to begin with is to ensure we are familiar with the way Steam expects us to package the game, and to ensure the builds are ok for each of the operating systems that we support. It also allows us to begin to set up the online stats-based infrastructure, and to finalise the theming systems planned for the game. Moving forward, the 'dance' mode will have the first mostly completed theme, but we will be working hard on the other game modes to ensure they al…
