  • The Big Bang - 22 February 2022

Begin with the colorful, isn’t our new picture here fancy and dandy. If you are reading this without seeing the updated art on our Steam page, you are missing out. We have grown as a game dev company and now we have gained actual skill in the artistry department. While before we had to do with what was the ragged scribbles of game designers near lunacy, has become pieces qualifying as fine art. To say that we are happy is quite the lie, since we are absolutely ecstatic. What has changed for our game you may ask, in short pretty every piece has been changed. Nothing remains the same except for the programming below. Which is also conveniently becoming better by the day. As part of experience gaining and team building exercise we have developed a completely new game in a short time. The game is concisely called Dr. Professor Scientist’s Weapons Testing Facility. Here is the link to it: He…

  • Game Dev Update 4 - 6 December 2021

Hi everyone and welcome another update on our game state. As everyone says they have been hard at work, we have too. Another big leap forward in our matchmaking systems and overall stability of the game, magnifique as others would put it. Now as we have put forward the customary greetings we can get down to some interesting topics. The race in F1 Jeddah yesterday, quite the spectacle that one, has given another boost in the any story is a believable story thesis. Now whatever we say in our short story (-ies hopefully) should be met with that is about to be expected from a pinnacle motorsport. If the smack with a tuna shaped hint didn’t give it away, we are working on a shorty story to tie the first race in our game into the story world behind it. A prelude to which pair of racing boots you are stepping into and why they are they stuck 3 squares behind the leader, or why in fact you are…

  • Dev Update 3: Tearing and Ripping - 28 November 2021

Weeks are full of merry laughter is what we all wish developing a game was. There hasn’t been any major issues or any real issues at hand, but its always disheartening to see having to scrap some of your already made work. Even if it is inevitable. This time we had to scrap the in game UI as it didn’t fulfill its whole purpose. The idea was to have a combination of a steering while and old handheld console as the UI in game; A month or two removed from its inception it is now gone, awaiting its follow up. On a positive note we have had marked improvements on some online functionalities. Quite a few lines have been revamped to improve the experience. Now we can finally move on to adding more functions. In addition to the UI upgrade we upgrade our corner system, especially the effects of reaching a corner. There is hope we can show some preliminary footage of our upgrades in the coming we…

  • Dev Update 2: One Click Experience - 18 November 2021

Greetings, It is week two and it is time to talk about the one click game experience. Before we skim some of my thoughts, clear your mind with this childlike stand. (Alternatively titled giant pizza box eats crowd.) Everyone has played those games where it takes forever to get into the menu and there are way too many buttons to press before you are in your game. Click/wait through long introes at game startup; Click through the intro screen— the “press any button to proceed”; Click through the promotions and worst-case scenario you must search through menus, because it isn’t clear where you start the game. There are probably a few extra steps I am missing, but these are enough to be annoyed at. My philosophy in this scenario is to reach as close to the one click threshold as possible. This threshold is something we do reach in Last Lap Heroes. After launching the game (if matchmaking so…

  • Dev Update 1 - 11 November 2021

A big thank you to the first ones here, we are very excited to share Last Lap Heroes with you. The game is coming along nicely, and we are hard at work in turning the Coming Soon button into a Buy Now! Our latest efforts have been in implementing the UI and we are starting to get quite happy it fits into the games theme. All the UI elements are quite loosely based off a formula steering wheel. Moving on from the status update— let us talk about Last Lap Heroes core loop. Your aim in almost every round is to reach the next corner without losing any or as little as possible Hit points. To reach this goal you choose your gear, trying to have as many outcomes as possible inside the next corner. Based on your result you employ other mechanics like swerving, braking and tires to stop in the next corner safely. If you go over too far from the corner you will spin out, leaving you locked out of…
