Hey everyone, This is Carlos reaching out to you today on the latest news around Resistance 204X. I’m new to Julio’s team at Yaga Studio, the studio behind Resistance 204X, and I know it’s been a while since the last newsletter. That being said, it's time to go full disclosure: Resistance 204X is coming sooner than you might think. We are aiming to release the game in Q2 2027. That’s also thanks to our latest federal funding from Germany's Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung as part of #gamesförderung. So what’s new since you last heard from us? Julio is super busy working on arenas currently. We’ve got 7 stages and 4 (+ a secret one) of 11 characters ready by now. Hey everyone, Let me show you some cool updates and behind the scenes snippets of what we've been up to since the last newsletter: Vote now for your favorite sketch!We’re starting out strong with an opportunity for you to get involved in deciding on a new key art for our new Steam capsule! The game has evolved quite a bit since the first key art and even though it still slaps, we felt that it’s time for a breath of fresh air. These are the three sketches our 2D artist Astor has come up with:The old/current key art shows Slice (on the left) and Zer0 (on the right) who were the first two characters added to the game. Zer0 is the main protagonist in the story behind Resistance 204X. In the first sketch we kept close to the story of Resistance 204X and exchanged Slice with Zer0's main opponent Sargon7. - Playtest live NOW! New character reveal! - 5 September 2025
Hey there, I'm here with some big news: The playtest for Resistance 204X is live now on Steam! You can be among the first ones to play the new character Sargon7. If you signed up beforehand, you can start playing right away after downloading the playtest. You can find the button to download the build on the Resistance 204X Steam page: The playtest will stay live until the end of September, so make sure to use your chance to get involved. After that we will take some time to look at your feedback and adjust Sargon7 before he gets implemented into the public demo. We look forward to hearing your thoughts! If you want to participate and haven’t signed up yet, you can request access on Steam. The sign-up will be open for 1 more week. 2024 has been an exciting year for Resistance 204X, with both online and offline festival appearances! Here’s a recap of our journey so far: Remote Play Together Fest In February, we were thrilled to be selected by Steam for their Remote Play Together Fest. During this online festival, we streamed player reactions as they dove into the world of Resistance 204X and had a blast! GGBavaria Also in February, we were honored to be featured at GGBavaria Fest 2024 in Munich, a hub for gaming enthusiasts, e-sports fans, indie game lovers, anime aficionados, and nerd culture in general.
