- Update 1.1.2 - 12 July 2025
Added the following features: - Pressing the spacebar on the map maker will toggle the eraser on and off. If an object placer is selected it will toggle back to that placer when spacebar is pressed again. - The backspace key will now close the current object menu. If a sub-menu is open (such as the bed menu of the furniture menu), this will return you to the parent menu. - Added the ability to unlock the object count allowing maps to be made with up to 1,000,000 objects. Maps larger than the 5,000 object default will not work in multiplayer, so this option should only be used for exporting larger maps for use in other programs.
- Update 1.1.1 - 8 June 2025
Fixed a few bugs in multiplayer: - DM notes were not appearing on upper layers due to some missing code when they load. This has been fixed, and notes now load on their correct layers. - Opening hidden doors on layers the players were not on was causing player disconnects. This has been fixed. - Ending a fire on a layer the player was not on would not remove the fire from that player's instance of the game. This has been fixed.

- Version 1.0.5 - 29 March 2024
This update includes an overhaul for the games lighting system. Since 2 dimensional lights in Unity games typically light everything regardless of z-axis positioning, in previous versions of the game lights placed on a specific layer would light up every layer of objects above and below that layer. With this update I figured out how to limit the lights to only lighting up the map layer they are placed on, allowing for better scene lighting. Unfortunately for very large maps with lots of layers the shadows cast by walls will sometimes only work on a few layers at a time, so your shadows may not look right. This is something I will work to fix.
- Version 1.0.4 - 27 March 2024

- Dungeon Maker Update 19 - 22 May 2023
This update, which was released in two parts, features user suggested features so thanks as always to the players who help me with great ideas. The first change is a fix to the map exporter. It was created before the addition of map layers to the program, so it only exported the first layer of the map when you pressed the export button. I've changed it so now the exporter will image and export whichever layer of the map you are currently viewing, and will add the layer number to the exported map name so you can export all the layers you've made. The next changes were all suggested by a Dungeon Maker player. First is the addition of custom map items for furniture, decor, wall covers, and floors. These appear as simple yellow squares with a black icon on them, but each can be replaced using the asset editor without writing over one of the existing items in game. The custom assets can be s…
- Dungeon Maker Update 18 - 7 April 2023
It has been a while since I posted an update, life got in the way of working on Dungeon maker for a bit, but I am back at it and trying to improve the software. Bug Fixes - Fixed glitch where editing character in game could cause a disconnect due to syncing doors. Tweaks and Changes The first tweak to the program was to fix the size and speed of animated dice rolls at different zoom levels. When zoomed in the dice would appear too small and move too fast, while when zoomed out the dice were too big and slow. Now the dice appear roughly the same size and move at the same speed regardless of zoom level. Another change was made to the battle tracker highlights. Before the game master would see the current units highlighted with a yellow square behind them, but I found this could be hard to see. Now the current character has their frame highlighted in bright yellow, making seeing whose turn…
- Dungeon Maker Update 17 - 12 February 2023
Bug Fixes - Made it so network manager is destroyed when a player exits a game to ensure they don’t try to reconnect to a failed connection - Made it so added fire is removed from the map when the location is changed - Changed the way the Steam Workshop is loaded to hopefully fix issues with crashing on the logo screen New Features I've overhauled the random coastline generator for the campaign map maker, allowing for more options in generating coasts. You can now select a map width and height separately, and have several preset options for the type of islands you want generated. You can customize the map generation using the sliders below the preset options, allowing a wide variety of maps to be generated. I have also redrawn all of the campaign map icons in a top-down style that better matches the encounter maps art style. This will allow me to more quickly add new icons to place on e…
- Dungeon Maker Update 16 - 8 January 2023
Heyo, Another update of updates is here, with most of these changes being released in a series of smaller updates over the past month. Bug Fixes - Fixed bug where hit die roll was adding constitution saving throw instead of modifier to result - Fixed bug where game would lock up on title credits if no connection to Steam was found - Fixed bug where non-ranged area spells were cast like ranged ones - Fixed label for DM daytime selector - Fixed bug where hit dice only healed locally, not to server - Made it so door lock icons and one way teleporters appear on the correct levels - Fixed bug where you couldn’t always scroll through items in the map maker - Fixed bug where NPCs and enemies placed on rotated doors could not be selected or deselected - Fixed bug where drop down menu items were not having their fonts changed Small Changes I found the door lock icon was difficult to see at times…
- Dungeon Maker Update 15 - 25 November 2022
Heyo, I've released a big new update, which includes the much requested Steam Workshop support. This is something I've wanted to integrate from the beginning, but it took me a while to wrap my head around the Steam API required to integrate the Workshop. Before we get to that I have some minor changes and bug fixes to report. Bug Fixes: When character resistances were added in the last game it created a bug where players hit by duration spells would be kicked out of the game. This has been fixed, and duration spells are working normally again. Fixed a bug where the DM changing an enemies HP would always drop it to 0. Fixed a bug where the portrait importer on the new character editor would not close properly. Fixed a bug where renaming an item to the same name deleted it. Small Features and Changes: I've added blood effects to players in the multiplayer games. These are the same as the…
- Dungeon Maker Update 14 - 12 November 2022
Heyo, There have been a couple of realeased updated to Dungeon Maker over the last month, so here are all the changes that were made. Bug Fixes: - Spell areas of effect have been fixed to sync to the correct layer the player is on - Exit buttons on npc, enemy, and character creators have been moved up so they don't get cut off in windowed mode - Floor blending between different floor types now works correctly for rotated floors - Light blocker for wide doors now correctly resets when doors are closed New Features The first new feature which was released in an update a couple weeks ago is animated spells. Now spells that take up area, whether circular, conic, or linear, will animate their effect in that area. Each damage type (or healing) has a unique animation that plays out, making the spells have a strong visual impact in game. Another new feature is added indicators for ranged attack…
- Dungeon Maker Update 13 - 15 October 2022
Heyo, It's been a while but another update is finally here. In this update I've added a blueprint maker for encounter maps, made it so in multiplayer more dice rolls display, fixed some bugs, and made the scrollbars look better. Bug Fixes: - When going into testing mode in the map maker the player spawns on the same layer as the starting location now instead of always on the ground layer. - NPC and enemy frames now appear on the correct layer when placed in the map maker New Features So the big new feature this update is map blueprints. A new button has been added to the main menu that allows you to create blueprint files. Going into a blueprint opens up the map editor in blueprint mode, which allows you to place up to 500 objects in the same way as the map maker. In the map maker you'll now find a blueprint icon just above the eraser, which will bring up the list of your blueprints. Se…
- Dungeon Maker Update 12 - 28 August 2022
Heyo, Another long wait between updates, this time due to me getting covid, which slowed down my progress on the game for a few weeks there. But I got back to it, and have been adding new features, and fixing bugs. As with many other updates I've been slowly pushing out these changes through the last few weeks, with this post discussing changes from several versions of the game. Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug where some map tiles were not correctly blending together. Fixed a bug where labels on campaign maps could not be erased or removed. Players now return to the correct location on the campaign map after the DM has moved them directly between encounters. Made it so if a player exited or crashed out of the game while they had a spell active, the spell is removed from the game. Slowed down the map exporter tool to fix a glitch where parts of the map image sometimes duplicate and overlap each o…
