  Were back again with another update for Movie Night. This time round were focusing on fixing and polishing the game rather than bringing more content. Remember you can join the discord to get the latest info in the community and play with others :) LINUX SUPPORT Thats right its finally here... Linux support. Its taken a while but were confident with this first build for linux it will be a game changer as we can now focus on bringing in steamdeck support which will be coming soon. Fixes and changes Fixed discord sdk crashing the game if it cant detect discord. It will now check if discord is running if it isnt it ignores setting activity status.   This is a hotfix patch for update 0.88 it doesnt add any new content however does fix the video player and hosting issues. Im sorry for the length of time it has taken for this update but im sure you can appreciate this hasnt been an easy task. As youtube continues to change what they allow and how they serve content issues will come up such as this which require time to fix and it is out of my control. • Update 0.85 - 17 August 2024

  This is an urgent update providing a fix for the video player while also giving you the first half of the 0.9 update. This was cut in 2 updates to provide a faster release and allow bug fixing to be possible for the final 0.9 update. Keep in mind this update is not "complete" and was originally intended as a 0.9 release so we appreciate any feedback. To start things off the cinema has now opened its shop allowing players to purchase popcorn for gems. Some players have been seen throwing the popcorn and making a terrible mess just don't tell the janitor that. Room effects now also make an appearance in Movie Night allowing the room host to toggle on or off.   It has been some time since our last major update and we dont want to disappoint. This update is a big one and a lot of time has been spent completely recoding a lot of the scripting for the video player. Video Player Queue system now added which supports up to 10 videos. Anyone in the room can add to the queue. Bin system added - The host of the room can bin any video in the queue regardless who requested it. Players can only bin a video if they are the one that requested it. Vote system added - Every player can cast 1 unique vote per video in queue the video with the highest votes plays next and the queue will reorganise itself based on vote number. Video quality can now be changed client side. You can choose if you wish to watch from HD all the way to 4K and it wont effect other players. Audio and video delay has been fixed for higher video qualities. Only the host can now jump ahead…

  This is a quick hotfix to address some important issues. Video Player Video player has been fixed and will now correctly play videos Video sync time has been improved significantly and clients will sync up to each other a lot quicker Video player will skip frames if on a very slow connection in order to keep up to avoid endless buffer UI has been slightly changed to make it more cleaner I will be working on trying to increase video quality with the next updates my goal is to get back up to 4k capability.   Today we release Update 0.7 for Movie Night as we progress with development the backend and functions of the game become more robust. We have a lot to share take a look: Video Player All players in the room can now request a video regardless if they are the room master or not Recoded how the player fetches the url string so it will wait until all players in the scene are ready to play Level System New player level system added that will track the players xp level and progress.   0.43 Hotfix We have fixed a range of issues from the recent update including bug reports. Video+Audio sync issue The video player has been rolled back to a previous version before the audio sync issue started this will fix the problem for now. We plan to completely recode the video player in the future however at the moment higher quality video causes issues with syncing to players. Lobby Due to a recent bug report Quickplay has been removed. This feature was causing issues allowing players access to password protected rooms. We dont believe this feature was commonly used as most people used the server browser.   Update 0.4 is here - New map, bug fixes and more New Map - Suburban Home: Please note this is very much a work in progress and the final map will include a full neighbourhood and scenery. 3D Audio: Audio is now played in its 3D environment and will change based of distance. Players who now join the game will not hear the video instantly at full volume and instead will only hear the video once entering the videos environment. Sound effects now added to some objects such as a crackling fireplace and a creeky door etc. Optimisation: Occlusion culling has now been added this will hide and not render objects which the camera cant see and will be updated in realtime as the player moves through the scene. Lighting: Movie Night now has a completely new light mapper engine (in fact its the same engine they used in Call of Duty: Mobile) this will provide more physically correct baked lighting while supporting modern technologies such as RTX.   I have been working on the back-end of the game getting it ready for the next major update. This build includes fixes and back end additions to prepare the game for this next update! Steam: The game will no longer run without steam and will close if steam is not running. Steamworks.NET has now been added allowing for communication between Movie Night and steam servers this will allow for future additions like player avatars, names, achievements and more. Steam DRM has been added to ensure the game is only played on steam and not copied and distributed elsewhere.
