• Weird Hat Fight is leaving Early Access (Patch #5) - 16 May 2022

  Hello everyone! Today we're releasing the final patch for Weird Hat Fight, and with it we're leaving Early Access. Thank you so much for joining us on this journey, the feedback we've gotten from everyone has been a ton of help in making our game better! From everyone at Hatquarters, we hope that you enjoy Weird Hat Fight! Patch Notes The final patch is focused on cleaning up the last few areas of the game that needed some attention. Content & Features Reworked Level Select Replaced the all of the SFX The old Level Select system was never great and required far too many button presses to start a match so we gave it a makeover. The new system should make getting into a match much faster and smoother. We've additionally replaced nearly every sound effect in the game with our new and improved versions (and added some more SFX where there weren't any). Bug Fixes Miscellaneous bug fixes.

  Hey everyone! We have some exciting stuff for you this week in the patch notes! Before we get to that though, lets talk a little bit about future updates. This is our penultimate patch, so barring anything surprising happening you can expect one more patch from us before we consider the game finished. That next patch will likely consist mostly of a large scale overhaul of our sound effects, along with any other minor fixes or improvements we implement over the next week. When used, the Party hat will push all nearby players away in a shower of confetti before granting you a random other hat.   Hey everyone! Sorry for the late update, we ran into some last minute issues we wanted to get ironed out. Let's dive straight into the patch notes! Patch Notes No new content this week, but some balance tweaks and important visual updates to some areas that needed polish. Visuals Remodeled the Lobby area. The Frog Hat's tongue now animates! (*mlem*) Replaced the hit effects on some abilities, the rest will come soon. Balance Changes After it's buffs in the first patch, the Bunny Hat's been in a good place. Too good of a place in fact. While the Bunny hat might not be best in class at anything, it's high safety, high damage, and high knockback leave it too good at too many things. We feel that it's in a good place as far as knockback strength goes, so we're toning the damage down instead a bit to make it less oppressive. Bunny Hat Sweetspot Damage 27 -> 19.   Hey everyone! Not much to update you on, so lets dive straight into the patch notes! Patch Notes It's a small patch this week. For this patch, we continued to work on polish and bugfixing. Nothing too exciting, but it should make the game feel better to play. Visuals Tweaked the fabric shader used by the players to look less wobbly. Replaced the UI button images. Various minor UI improvements. Miscellaneous Improvements Adjusted the sensitivity of controls when leaving respawn stasis. This should result in less players unintentionally leaving respawn stasis. Added a warning if players start the game without controllers connected. The game automatically closes itself if you idle on the Main Menu without a controller connected for too long.   Hey everyone! Thanks for joining us for our early access launch! Over the past week we've been blown away by how many people have played our game. As of right now, Weird Hat Fight has been downloaded over 4,000 times! I'd like to take a moment to talk about what type of support you can expect for the game going forward. Weird Hat Fight is a Student game. As such, we'll continue adding to the game and improving it until we graduate. The end result of this is that you can expect weekly patches through the end of April. After the end of April, Weird Hat Fight will leave early access and we will end development on it. It's always possible plans will change, but barring anything surprising happening this is what you should expect.
