A big thank you to everyone for your patience as we've worked through the major obstacles surrounding electron and YouTube's new embedding limitations. We're pleased to share that we have, after countless hours of trying, come up with a solution that brings YouTube embedding along with PIP back! YouTube EmbeddingDue to changes in YouTube's embedding policy, we had to come up with a creative solution where we changed the origin of the app itself along with tweaking headers to get things working. While this was extremely challenging in and of itself, the bigger issue was that a different origin meant old user data would not load. Thanks to careful and thoughtful feedback from the community page, we're releasing this update addressing the following issues: YouTube Videos Open ExternallyDue to changes in YouTube's embedding policy, videos no longer cleanly rendered in-game. (YouTube now severs embedding in electron apps). This was unsightly and distracting for players. We've now updated the game so that videos launch externally. (We were unable to find a solution that allowed us to preserve in-game embedding. Easy Mode (25% discounted upgrades)A lot of players have given feedback that it takes too long to arrive at the late-game. All players now have the option of toggling on Easy Mode in the title menu. All upgrades are discounted 25% while milestones require 25% more net worth to reach. - Bug Fixes + Stability Improvements - 15 August 2025
Thank you all for your patience with the version 2.0 release. Some players reported issues that were extremely difficult to reproduce leading to a long delay in releasing a fix. I sincerely apologize for this - none of our windows machine could reproduce the error which I was convinced had something to do with save state upgrades to 2.0 but turns out had a different cause entirely. As a result, this turned into a bit of a wild goose chase on my part and a solution was found only through the help of two devoted players; Ernesto E. and Damien E. (the latter of whom deserves special recognition as it was his insight that led to the fix). Changes are listed below. Investment pricing has been updated through mid-2024 for all assets. For an additional challenge, attempt the game on Tax Mode, which siphons up to 37% "annually" based on realized gains. You can now share, test, and vote on community bots from within the game. Here's what's new: Updated price data for all assets through mid-2024 A new difficulty setting (unlocked at a net worth milestone) called "Tax Mode". This siphons up to 37% every 365 days based on realized gains. In-game bot sharing! (more below) Newly compiled with the latest frameworks for some stability and performance improvements. So the #1 most requested feature on discord was the wish for a centralized forum for users to share bot creations. After some brainstorming, it seemed to make the most sense to add this directly into the game itself, under the "port" menu in the bot editor. Hi Everyone! Version 1.3.5 is now live featuring several bug fixes, stability improvements and finally the source code open source on GitHub. Thank you to everyone for your patience and help with the project, your bug reports were incredibly helpful in isolating the following: Specific changes new in 1.3.5 include: Ground up refactor of save system which decreases save file size dramatically and speeds up performance writing to the system A bug introduced in the last update is now quashed, where stepping does not show the "stock finished" popup. Now trades do not reset the brush Auto Continue is more reliable on legacy systems Some quirks with brushing smoothed over Various other issues, like the year not updating in realtime. Happy New Year! I'm pleased to announce a long overdue update to the the game for 2024. In version 1.3, players can finally import their own CSVs in sandbox mode, allowing you to test your strategies and bots with data of your choosing. In sandbox mode, select "Import CSV" from the sandbox menu and import a csv file with a structure like this We also have some much requested bug fixes, including: ETF mode not working for some users on some platforms Issues with sandbox mode switching, including the 'random' setting Brush resetting zoom when stepping (before unlocking the 'sim' upgrade) On a personal note, I would like to mention I had been unable to work on the game (or much of anything else) for some time due to health issues, an extremely severe concussion that prevented me (and continues to hinder) my ability to engage with screens.
