The mostly final version of Slider is here! This comes with our Chinese localization, a fix for high refresh-rate monitors, and a ton of bug fixes. Here is the full change log:- Chinese localization!- Localization should now default to your system's language if available- Fixed missing animation frames on Chad, Archeologist, and Fezziwig (lmk if there's any others please!!)- Added an experimental option to make the player smoother on high refresh-rate monitors- Added an option to tone down screen effects (like flashing or shaders)- Updated how files are saved and added some more permanent saves, so the whole process should be safer and more recoverable. - Slider is Thinky Awards' Best Free Game! - 6 March 2025
Guys... we did it! Despite the stacked line up of amazing free games, Slider managed to be the 2024 Thinky Awards' Best Free Puzzle Game! 5 Big Booms for Slider please! This is probably the last award we will be getting given Slider's expiring shelf life (though we are still constantly getting new players which is awesome!), but it's been an amazing time releasing a game that has captured so many. Every time I see someone asking "Why is this game free?", I can't help but smile. Things have stalled out a bit, but there are still a few more projects that I'm hoping to get to before closing the book on Slider. Thank you again for all of your dedicated support, it truly means the world to me!

I have a dream... that one day I'll see those words next to our game "Overwhelmingly Positive" Only 300 more reviews to go! Slider has been such a journey and I've been wayyy too addicted to constantly reading the reviews. I'm doing my best to keep up with the bugs (which have been for the most part kept up with?!) and in the coming months we should be able to start rolling out localization! Anyway, thanks again to everyone who's been reporting bugs and everyone who's been writing reviews. It's made the whole team super happy to read all the positive feedback and I've been glad that I've been able to find the time to keep supporting the game.

Wow! We're Steam Deck verified!! It's surprising cause we don't even officially support controller yet. - Fixed a bug in the Jungle where the fat tile would spawn separated - Reworked how the doors in the Factory are coded so hopefully they should be more consistent - Added some more checks in the Mountain. If you load the area with 7 sliders, the heater should be on now. Also, if the heater thinks it's full but for some reason isn't, extra lava carts will make it check again now. - Updated the dialogue in MRI at the laser cutscene - Updated some hints in the walkthrough We're working on setting up localization!

- Updated Linux Steam cloud saving path. If you created a Windows profile, it might overwrite the Linux one you currently have! You should be able to use the new "restore backup" function to get your old linux save back though. - If you messed up your saves, you can try checking your saves folder and using one of the other backups we create. For example, you might want to (while the game isn't running) copy "backup-LINUX-slider0.cat" to "backup-slider0.cat". If you start your game, you should be able to then restore the backup.
