- July Update - Combat Improvements - 9 July 2024
First of all, THANK YOU! Seriously. Thank you for both playing our game #BLUD and for all of the detailed feedback! We’ve read through everything on Steam, Twitter, and beyond in order to address the biggest issues. We’ve done a bunch of combat improvements. We had started prototyping making Becky invincible during rolls before release, but there were issues with ground hazards preventing us from including it earlier. Thank you for your patience as we worked out the roll! In conjunction with that, we’ve shortened the animation for getting hit, so Becky can recover faster. Overall, combat should be more fluid, so you can be the vampire slayer you were born to be. We’ve also permanently assigned a map shortcut button, and fixed a bunch of soft-lock locations. Check out the full list of improvements below! Big Improvements: Combat Improvements Shortened the basic "getting hit" animation, s…

It’s time to tune in for vampire-slaying cartoon mayhem… #BLUD is out starting today! Slaying the undead is just another day at high school for Becky Brewster, new kid in town and latest in an ancient bloodline of spellcasting vampire hunters. When the vampire apocalypse comes to Carpentersville, it’s up to you to save your friends and fight off the horrifying legions—all while surviving freshman field hockey practice—in a delightfully zany animated dungeon crawler that blurs the line between action RPGs and hyperkinetic 90s cartoons. Time to slay!

- The #BLUD demo has been resurrected! - 10 June 2024
If you missed out on the demo for #BLUD when it debuted during February’s Steam Next Fest, here’s another chance to sink your teeth into Exit 73 Studios’ upcoming cartoon dungeon crawler! We’ve resurrected the February demo for a limited time, so you can get a taste of the first part of Becky Brewster’s vampire-slaying high school saga before the game’s official release in just over a week on June 18. Play the Demo The principal of Carpentersville High would like to remind students that much like some of your biology textbooks, this demo is a bit older now, so what you encounter might not reflect the content or quality of the final game. The team at Exit 73 has been heads-down making improvements (including updates based on feedback from this very demo), including: Smoothing Becky’s movements to address screen tearing issues. Combat and visual tweaks, such as fixes for ground attackers,…
- Just Another Vampire-Filled Day at #BLUD’s Carpentersville High - 21 May 2024
Math class. Hockey practice. Taking a selfie with a vampire before staking him with a #2 pencil. All part of a typical day at school for Becky Brewster—new kid at Carpentersville High, latest in an ancient bloodline of spellcasting vampire hunters, and star of the upcoming cartoon dungeon crawler #BLUD! 7am - Bake Sale Prep! The school’s fundraising drive is almost here, and Becky’s got just the thing to bring: the Apple Pie from her mom’s old cookbook! There’s a rad recipe somewhere between the 200-year-old technique for scrambled eggs, the grody description of Strzyga anatomy, handy instructions for creating a nexus portal, and the faintly glowing page full of indecipherable runes. 8am - Walk to School Becky missed the bus (again), so it’s time to hoof it before the bell rings. Luckily Becky brought Brenda—an ancient wooden field hockey stick from the championship season of '95—to cle…
