- Stability fixes - 3 October 2026
This update focuses on server stability and more predictable mouse controls. Fixes Fixed a server crash when enemies cross map boundaries. Connecting with an incompatible game version now shows an update message without crashing. Clicking your own character selects it without walking. Tree and resource sprites no longer block clicks to move on the ground.
- A more lively world - 30 September 2026
Resources animation Trees, bushes and cacti now move gently in the wind, with animated artwork. Smoother zoom and clearer text Zooming between whole-number steps looks smoother while interface and world text stay clear. The new Adapt quality (60 FPS target) option in Graphics settings can adjust zoom quality during sustained slowdowns. It is on by default. More natural enemy movement Enemies navigate around obstacles and close in on targets more naturally. Projectile collisions use more precise shapes for more consistent hits. The maximum gameplay view is now 1440 × 810 world pixels (16:9), including on wide displays.
- Combat and controls fixes - 14 September 2026
This update makes short-range spells more dependable and fixes a few frustrating control and screenshot problems. More reliable spell hits Warp-to-target spells now check your precise position. A target near the edge of a short spell's reach should no longer make the cast miss silently. We also fixed spells that sometimes failed to deal damage when their effects overlapped on a target. Contact, party controls and screenshots Default physical contact and damage areas now resolve separately for characters and enemies. Returning to mouse play after keyboard or controller navigation no longer lets gameplay keys accidentally activate a focused party Leave or Kick button. Screenshots now create their folder when needed, and an unusable destination no longer closes the game.
- Interaction and stability update - 6 September 2026
This update improves world interactions and fixes uncommon crashes and stalls around map transitions, loading and projectiles. A choice for usage statistics The new Share usage statistics option appears beside crash reporting in the general game settings. It starts enabled and controls limited pseudonymous gameplay statistics. Switching it off stops future gameplay collection for your connection immediately. Better interactions Equipping a projectile weapon no longer prevents you from activating a nearby action-button event. Events keep the same normal interaction range as when you are unarmed; projectile range does not extend them. When nearby events overlap, automatic interaction also prefers the event in front of you while preserving an explicitly selected target. Stability fixes Fixed rare multiplayer map freezes during simultaneous transitions Fixed mouse input and early crew updat…

Pirate Souls 1.0.8 brings a broad reliability pass for quests, purchases, combat, movement and item handling. Privacy-safe crash reporting Fatal errors can now send a small technical report that excludes names, messages, logs, screenshots, commands and network data. The new Send crash reports option in the general game settings applies immediately when turned off. Reliability fixes Chen's daily missions become available correctly above level 55 when no Chen mission is active Later Steam diamond purchases are no longer rejected after an earlier transaction Moving targets collide reliably with fast, stationary and opposing projectiles Old movement updates cannot pull you back across a newer warp Item pickups, stack merges and equipment drops preserve the right contents and quantities Fixed a Windows issue that could prevent the game from opening on some computers
- Smoother movement and reliable projectiles - 25 August 2026
Version 1.0.7 makes movement and combat respond more closely to what you do and what you see on screen. Click exactly where you mean Click to Move now stops at the precise point you choose instead of steering toward the middle of a tile. Approaching an enemy or another target also avoids the last-second correction that could make your character jitter before acting. Exact sub-tile movement for ground clicks Smoother approaches to interactive targets No brief backward pull while crossing connected-map borders Projectile hits now match their visible path Fast and free-aimed projectiles are now checked continuously along their path. Fire Gun shots should no longer pass visibly through an enemy without registering a hit. Stationary projectile traps also detect enemies that enter their area later. More predictable combat and controls Attacking a focused enemy leaves your character facing tha…
- Safer recovery from connection interruptions - 24 August 2026
This is a focused reliability update for movement and connection troubleshooting. Movement recovers automatically We fixed a rare issue where one missing movement update could prevent the server from confirming the movement that followed it. If this stalled state occurs, the game now safely resynchronizes using the server's position. Support logs are always available The game now creates its support logs folder automatically when it is missing, making future support investigations more dependable.
- Smoother movement and safer voyages - 22 August 2026
This update rebuilds movement, collision and position-sensitive combat beneath the surface. The result is smoother travel, more reliable interactions and fewer crashes while exploring. Smoother movement Movement now stays more consistent across map borders, around obstacles and in crowded areas. The client and server also recover more cleanly when a connection is delayed. Better Click to Move Click to Move now handles narrow openings, corners, doors and warps more reliably. Clicking an NPC, resource, event or attackable player also brings you to the correct interaction distance instead of orbiting or stopping too far away. More dependable combat Attacks against moving targets remain more responsive on higher-latency connections. Focused attacks face their target correctly without requiring exact tile alignment, and projectiles use a more consistent aim direction. Crash and stability fix…

- Click to move and controller support! - 20 July 2026
This update is about how you hold the game. Pirate Souls has always been a keyboard and mouse MMO. From now on, it is also a controller game, a click to move game, and a game you can drive entirely from the keyboard. Underneath that, we spent a long stretch clearing out the stutter that has been following players around the world map. Full controller support Plug in a gamepad and play. Any pad SDL recognises works, whether it is Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or generic, and the game reads which one you connected so the prompts on screen show the right buttons. Positional layout, so it is correct on every brand. Left stick moves, clicking it toggles run. Face buttons attack, kick, dodge and swap hotbar banks. D-pad opens the windows you reach for most.
