Hey Jelly Squad! Hope you enjoyed the upgrade of our visuals! Now, let's dive into the physics of our jelly! First prototype: This is the very first physical prototype of our Jelly. Stretch, shrink, jump - that's all there was to our Jelly at this stage. Interaction with the world was limited, resulting in a stiff Jelly and a less-than-ideal feel. Second prototype: The first thing we modified was the jump - a hurdle every platformer game must overcome. We broke down Jelly's jumping animation into three parts: pre-jump, mid-jump, and landing, and adjusted the physical parameters for each. Another important change was the stretch and shrink interaction. Stretching and shrinking are actions that need to be frequently used and accurately controlled in Jelly Delivery. However, the feedback for stretching and shrinking was far from sufficient in the previous version. We added two extra stages…

First tweak: All about making you LOOK! It's design for the eye! In the early stages of development, we wanted our game visuals to be eye-catching enough to seize your attention. We wanted to keep it interesting, without overwhelming you, so we simplified the amount of information conveyed through the art. At this stage, color and shape were pretty much the only visual cues. We went for bold styles, like the large vibrant blocks of solid color combined with thick, hand-drawn outlines to create a look that was simple yet impactful.
