• Hotfix 1.1.9e - 6 October 2025

  This build fixes a security issue recently reported by Unity; more importantly it marks the official shift of the New Game+ mode from its beta branch to the default branch. New Game+ mode is accessed by completing the game in Book 3, then starting a new game in Book 1 with the information (like gems, character names, and various important events retained). You'll also start with more cash and higher stats, so you can dive straight into exploring the many ways big and small the world has changed.

• Book 3 New Game+ complete - 4 March 2025

  This update completes the New Game+ part of the Love of Magic trilogy, adding new storylines, new events and final cleanup. A lot of the events can be accessed either in NG+ or normal mode; I've added new events for Emily, a new Molly & Akane threesome, and tweaked a lot of dialog if you're on the NG+ path. For the 'best' playthrough, I would recommend having dealt with Hel in book 3, before starting a New Game+ playthrough; that will unlock a big new questline in Book 2 (What Was Promised), and also new scenes in Book 3, leading to the 'true' ending. There is also a big questline called Headhunter, starting in book 1 and eventually ending in book 3. It's worth completing it to see more about the world. Apart from that, the New Game+ effort added a bunch of polish items, re-encoding videos, porting all of Book 3's improvements (like rewind) back to Book 1 & 2, and in general tightening…

• Collectible Cards - 23 November 2024

  I was making the Community Items for Morningstar when it struck me that I never finished the ones for Love of Magic: Book 3. I submitted a set, back in June 2023, but it came back with so many "must fix-it" notes, and by that time I was neck deep in development of Morningstar, so it slid off my radar and into the great unknown. Steam Community items are a curious bit of Meta-gameplay Valve added to the storefront. The basic process goes like this: - Developer creates some collectible cards, backgrounds, badges and emotes. - The game drops the card based on play-time (in my case, a card for every 30 mins of gameplay) - The game will drop 1/2 of the cards for any one player (assuming you've played at least 3 hrs). • 1.0.2h Hotfix - 25 February 2024

  This is a quick hotfix that pushes some changes from Development branch to the default branch. Notably it fixes a bug a lot of Mac users were having with unresponsive UI. It also adds in better support for starting a game in Book 3 without an existing book 2 savegame. For those of you who have Book 1 installed on Steam, a new Beta branch has also appeared, called NGPLUS. This will provide a way to return to Book 1 with your end of Book 3 savegame, and see how the world changes as a result. It's still WIP, but hopefully I'll push it forward as the final build sometime in the next month or so.   Quick little hotfix addressing various issues raised here and in the Discord.
