Howdy Gamers, First, I'd like the thank everyone who tuned-in to our Indieland 2023 livestream segment! Barry was nice enough to discover a few neat bugs in that raw raw build, and now that the major ones from that are fixed (along with a buncha other bugs we discovered locally), we feel reasonably ready enough to unleash this build to the public! Local Splitscreen Multiplayer Alpha - Unleashed! Through the powers of instancing and doing our best to avoid singletons whenever possible, we have made our programming lives easy enough to the point where it only took about a month to make local multiplayer a possibility! Because this multiplayer mode is alpha as heck, some features like the photography mode will exhibit funny behavior. There's also only one playable local multiplayer game mode AND only one map because the math of deciding where grass should spawn becomes a little less trivia…

Hello, Just updated the build w/ a big quick fix. We recently reworked how we query and categorize collisions on our character controller. However in a prior update - we actually broke the game if you skate up a quarter pipe and land on flat ground. Patch Notes: fixed an issue where the character would fall through the world if they landed on flat ground from vert air an extremely beta version of an emote wheel has been added. This has only been tested on mouse + keyboard. While offboard, you can try to access it by pressing Q and clicking the appropriate emote bubble. ollieing off of a grind while in the middle of a leave-rail animation crossfade should now animate responsively and no longer exhibit an awkward delay after setting the vertical post-grind ollie coyote-time velocity. manual balancing control inputs during arcade mode overtime should no longer be relinquished during overti…
- PAX West 2023 Demo Build is Live! - 13 September 2023
Hello Gamers, First, I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth at PAX West 2023! This year! We had 1226 frogs drawn on sticky notes and lots of good vibes and feedback from folks playing the latest demo! As promised, I've updated the demo to reflect the latest state of the build seen at PAX West 2023, along with a few more fixes to bugs we caught on the show floor. Patch Notes: camera has been pulled back a little bit, and now zooms in on the player during vert air descent we added a lil photo mode! Right now there's only one post-processing filter, but we're now capable of adding more in the future! Click the Right Stick on gamepad or press C on keyboard while offboard to toggle camera-mode. 1/3 on desktop can be used to toggle a monochrome filter expanded the park section of Twilight University a little bit redid a bunch of our quest-management logic and used it to add some…
- Hot Frog Summer - New Timed Run Mode to try in the Demo! - 3 June 2023
Howdy ya'll, Summer is now upon us, and you know what that means! It is finally too hot outside to go connect with nature, so why not spend sometime indoors with a updated demo build of Olliefrog Toad Skater. Timed Run! There's now a 4th polaroid on the level-select screen. "Where does this go?" you might ask. After a little bit of sweaty refactoring, the dev team is now in a much better position to inject arbitrary game modes! The new Timed Run mode should be familiar to THPS veterans. You've got 2 minutes to complete as many objectives as you can in the park. Because this is demo, completion of these goals currently won't yield rewards, but in the final game we will have a different, more persistent means of conveying player progression. - Steam Sports Fest - Stability Update Patch Notes - 15 May 2023
Happy Steam Sports Fest Everybody! It's Mr. Thee with another lil demo build stability update. We were originally gonna try to have a new game mode ready by today, but due to a number of factors including making sure that our release roadmap and sleep schedule don't get completely hammered by showcase demos and other miscellaneous context-switching, we opted to just prioritize getting a stabilized build out by the time of the event. A healthier build today means a sicker game tomorrow, if that makes sense, because it's a skateboarding game, and sick is good(???). But enough conflicting metaphors. Here are some patch notes: Sometimes the vert air camera would freak out on certain quarterpipes, especally the really tall ones. Howdy Ya'll, I did a bunch of little adjustments and fixes to the demo, and now i'm ready to list them. Keep in mind that all bugs forwarded to me have yet to be address because in game development, it is actually more efficient to put off certain fixes later than others. In the meantime, here's what's been done to the latest version of the free demo build: - Left Trigger and Right Trigger (or Q and E on keyboard) can be used to rail-drop during grinds - vert-air can now be entered if you leave any surface w/ upward velocity if ur leaving a slope with 50 degrees steepness or more - stairs can be navigated on foot smoothly (tho getting onboard while on stairs is still a bit janky) - quick turns now behave nicely on walls - added some new sound effects and audio effects - added caustics to the water area in Riverbank Hotel - polished the camera movement a bit during certain quarter pipe t…

As promised, I'd like to announce that we're updating the Steam demo build to reflect the content seen at PAX East 2023! For most games, doing an update for a demo midway through a game's development is a bit unusual, but for an execution-centric game as this one is, it's a bit easier to justify. Technically some of these were added in the previous build update, but it took me forever to realized that the announcement feature on this website wasn't under the demo app landing page, but actually under the main app landing page section. So - this one is a bit of 2-for-one update. Let's start off with the new new stuff: New Body Customization Option - Body Patterns While we like our frogs with big round bellies, we asked ourselves "what if we could make the frog look like a flag?" After about a day of hacking stuff together - we discovered that this was surprisingly doable! Under the far left customization tab, aka the "body" menu, we added a new option - "Patterns".
