About this game
Buddies in Boxes is a quirky turn-based strategy game where adorable characters race for points to earn the title of Most Appealing . Outplay your opponents by developing your buddy through a careful selection of foods, skills, and jobs. The game can be setup in many different ways, with each setup containing 2 - 6 players (Human or AI), 3 - 4 jobs allowing access to new skills, and a market where players can spend their coin and buy various foods. Each game setup is its own puzzle, with every particular skill or food presently available being a piece that pushes the game in different directions and opens up new strategies. Picking from a wide variety of game pieces and combinations, there are countless possible setups offering refreshing and intriguing experiences. In addition, a game can be set up with Conditions that can vary how the game is played. From extending night rounds to boosting each player's starting coins, Conditions bring another twist into the fold. Features Hotseat Multiplayer for up to 6 Players. Single player Scenario Mode with pre-selected balanced setups to gradually introduce mechanics and progressively challenge the player. Free Play Mode with adjustable game setup options, playable with friends or varying AI difficulties. 8 different buddies to play as, or play against, each with their own unique ability. Over 20 different types of food to grow your buddies in a myriad of different ways. 7 different jobs for buddies to promote to, each having at least 4 unique skills to change up the game. 9 neutral skills that anybuddy can use. Promote and Play When your buddy promotes to a new job they gain powerful skills and a matching new look! Surge ahead with the Scientist's intelligence or keep the competition in check with the Robber. Play the field, though, as jobs can potentially counter one another. Too many players promoting to Cop can discourage a Robber, and too many Spies can steal intelligence from a Scientist, literally! Night and Day Rounds progress through day and night which affects the usage and availability of certain skills and foods. Time your strategies carefully to get the most out of the day or prepare for the night.
