Welcome to the first Kingmakers Dev Blog, a behind-the-scenes look at some of the amazing work the dev team at Redemption Road Games has been up to.For our first blog, we’re kicking things off with the allies you’ll be in command of - your units. Diving into the top-down strategy gameplay of Kingmakers massive medieval battlefield. So buckle up and let’s begin!Unit TypesWhen Early Access hits, you'll have six medieval troop types to recruit, which include: Swordsmen, Spearmen, Cavalry, Archers, Berserkers, and Men-at-arms. Most of which will be upgradeable up to two or three tiers to improve their proficiency. For example; regular Archers can be upgraded to Longbowmen who cause extra armor-ruining ranged damage. There’s also a full skill tree system that enhances units even further, but more on that later. Troops are just the beginning. You’ll also have access to siege weapons like Treb…

You'd likely die today, you knew. But you'd die knowing you did all you could to put this fair kingdom to rights. Kingmakers featured at the Future Games Show! Developer Ian Fisch took the stage to share a look into the game, diving into the lore related to the history of Owain Glyndŵr’s Welsh rebellion, unscripted destructible structures, thousands of soldiers, pathfinding fidelity, command armies, build, and the drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer campaign experience in our medieval simulation with modern weaponry. Via GamesBeat , we've learned that Story Kitchen , a recently-formed production company behind the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and the upcoming Tomb Raider animated series (as well as many other gaming-related projects), has signed a deal to help develop a live-action movie based on the yet-to-be-released third-person shooter. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Kingmakers is making it's way to the big screen! We have partnered with Story Kitchen to bring you a live-action film adaptation of our upcoming medieval time-traveling action game that allows players to bring an arsenal of assault rifles, humvees, and attack helicopters to war-torn medieval England, where they’ll assist Owain Glyndower’s 1401 Welsh Rebellion, via massive simulated battles. Story Kitchen’s adaptation will ask the question: What if Braveheart included time travel?.
