• RVD Going Free and Open Source - 9 February 2024

  Since mid 2023 RVD hasn't worked on cutting edge versions of Windows 11. This is due to Microsoft changing the API the software relies on too frequently. This combined with low sales numbers means that in order to keep RVD working properly on newer versions of Windows our best chance will be to take RVD open source. Be on the lookout for RVD appearing for free on GitHub soon. For now please uninstall the Steam version of RVD if you are on a modern version of Windows then follow these steps: 1. Open file explorer. 2. On the left side under This PC find your desktop and right click it. 3. Go to Properties -> Location -> Restore Default. 4. When done you can browse through RVD desktops located in %USERPROFILE%\RVD\desktops and get any files you need.

Remote Desktop now saves it's own icon layouts separate from the ones saved when using Windows normally Fixed a rare crash
