- Get the SLARPG soundtrack on vinyl and CD! - 29 November 2023
Just in time for the holidays, the physical editions of the Super Lesbian Animal RPG soundtrack by Beatrix Quinn are in stock at Turtle Pals Tapes! https://i.postimg.cc/kqjCjBxV/Fyx-B2-Pla-YAA0-Sf-E.jpg The main event is the two-disc vinyl LP set, which features a curated selection of 40 fan favorite tracks from across the game pressed to a pair of pride-themed translucent splatter vinyls. The front and back covers and the four side labels also feature original art by SLARPG creator Bobby Schroeder! (hey wait that's me) Alternatively, we also have the soundtrack on CD, which features the complete 75-track OST split across two discs! Orders of either version also come with a free SLARPG keychain with Melody and Allison on it. It's cute. If these sound like something you need in your life, then you can grab them over at turtlepalstapes.com! (Their site might still have them labled as preo…
- Nominate SLARPG in the Steam Awards! - 21 November 2023
The Steam Autumn Sale is here! Naturally, we've put SLARPG on sale for the occasion. But this also means it's time to nominate games for the 2023 Steam Awards! If you'd like to throw us a nomination, you can pick whatever category you think is best, but we're personally suggesting the Outstanding Story-Rich Game award. This has been a very stacked year for releases, so the competition will be fierce, but it'd be very cool to be up for consideration!
- SLARPG v1.2.3 Changelog - 26 October 2023
It's been a bit since we had a larger patch with a variety of fixes! Thank you to everyone who's reported these issues. Skill changes: Melody's lower level Woodland Paladin spell, Woodland Healing, has been reworked and buffed. Rather than scaling with Melody's Magic stat, it now heals for a flat 20% of the target's max HP every turn for four turns. For most builds, this should be a notable buff. It should also no longer make a damage sound when the healing is applied. And, while I was at it, I threw in a new version of the healing spell animation that displays the Woodland spec's symbol. Music fixes: Returning to the Sapphire Coast early in Act II and fighting the enemies there should no longer cause the Basement Dungeon music to play afterwards. Exiting the Neon Labyrinth while the dungeon remains incomplete will now no longer make the Neon Labyrinth battle theme play for battles in t…
- SLARPG v1.2.2 Changelog - 11 July 2023
This is a small update mainly designed to fix one thing! Fixed a very specific, previously unheard of soft lock in the final dungeon that could occur due to warping out of floor 4F during a certain section in the middle of the puzzle sequence. There's now a computer terminal near the room's entrance that can be used to reset the puzzle. Also, minor typo fixes.
- SLARPG v1.2.1 Changelog - 11 May 2023
Time for another small update with several tweaks and bug fixes! Jodie is no longer added to the party at level 1 on Easy Mode. (This was one of those bugs that took me months to hear about because everyone thought it was intentional. Oops!) Fixed certain party members being added to the party with low MP under certain conditions. Throughout the Neon Labyrinth, paths leading off-screen have been made more clear at a glance. Exit paths have been lengthened by one tile, and paths going left and right now have arrow signs on the walls. The Astral Plane door in Greenridge should now appear for all players by Act IV, regardless of any other progress conditions relating to the Astral Plane. (For real this time.) Other minor fixes. Also, if you missed it, SLARPG now has an official main story walkthrough! Check it out in the Guides section if you're ever stuck and in need of instructions on wh…
- SLARPG v1.2 Changelog - 15 April 2023
Hi again, everyone! It's been a bit. This latest patch might not be the most substantial update to date, but there's definitely some good stuff in here. Improvements The enemies fought alone with Melody throughout early Act I now no longer have a 3% chance to dodge attacks. The Genuine Snake Oil Bottle Charm now grants full immunity to common Poison statuses. (Previously, it was labeled as granting 75% immunity while erroneously only granting 25% immunity.) The path to the Astral Plane door in Greenridge will now always be unblocked by Act IV, regardless of whether or not the player has visited the Astral Plane previously. The puzzle in the second half of the Flurry Mountains that first introduces switch runes has been made easier. A tiny "puzzle" was also added before it to try and better illustrate how the switch runes work before throwing players into the deep end. A certain instance…
- SLARPG v1.1.3 Changelog - 14 February 2023
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! (And also happy birthday to our composer Bee!!!) What better day than today to put out the latest patch with some more tweaks and bug fixes? v1.1.3 Changes For players with Additional Guidance mode toggled on, hint arrows pointing towards the keys have been added to The Anomaly. Mobile Hole Hounds will no longer drop the Cardboard Box item. After multiple reports of people thinking they had gotten stuck after finding the I.D. badges in the Neon Labyrinth, interacting with either the door OR the badge scanner will now unlock the door to the end of the dungeon. Corrected a couple dialogue logic errors relating to checks for whether or not the Resolute Paladin side quest had been finished. Additional modifications have been made to the parts of the third party "Effectus" anti-lag script that were causing occasional crashes when bumping into enemies. Other m…
- SLARPG v1.1.2 Changelog - 21 January 2023
No big patch notes post this time! This is a small late night update made exclusively to further address issues with the "Effectus" third party script following today's main update. Hopefully this will mitigate things a bit more for players running into that crash. For more information on what's been updated today (such as the addition of a purchasable map for Greenridge), see the full patch notes for v1.1.1.
- SLARPG v1.1.1 Changelog - 21 January 2023
Happy Friday, and happy one month anniversary to SLARPG! Can you believe it's already been a whole month? I can't. How time flies... While not as large as the v1.1 update the other week, v1.1.1 features some important additions, tweaks, and fixes! Additions: Added an area map for Greenridge (and the Hiking Trail), purchasable from Sherry and Joy's shop from Act II onwards. Between this and the three added in v1.1, all outdoor areas now have maps for the Quest Log! Balance changes: The damage dealt by Allison's directional attacks when hitting weak points has been buffed 10-25% across the board for most normal enemies, and several enemies that lacked directional weakness now have them. Fire spells now have a chance to remove the Damp state, and water spells now have a chance to remove Burns. The Damp state also no longer gives fire resistance. Other tweaks: A fix has been attempted for t…
- SLARPG v1.1a Changelog - 7 January 2023
A quick emergency patch for v1.1 to fix a potential progression error in the final dungeon, as well as a fix for an error with the new Sapphire Coast area map. See also: the full patch notes for v1.1 from earlier today, which added some fun and helpful things.
- SLARPG v1.1 Changelog - 6 January 2023
We've got a big one this time! This is the most substantial patch I've made since launch. v1.1 Changelog "New content": Additional Guidance mode can now be toggled on or off from the start of the game or via the in-game Options menu! When enabled, this will occasionally offer more direct hints on what to do next in a few specific parts of the game for more story-focused players - particularly a few puzzle segments, as well as helping you find the side content late in the game. (Ultimately, the total number of hints added across the game is low. Exploration, dungeon puzzles, and returning to previously-visited areas with new tools are core pillars of SLARPG's design, and I don't want to hold the player's hand every step of the way. But these specific bits have been parts where some players just gave up and messaged me (usually at like 3am), or posted a cry for help in the #SLARPG tag on…
- Super Lesbian Animal RPG is a big hit with the target audience - 3 January 2023
Today in niche games, the recent release of Super Lesbian Animal RPG seems to have greatly pleased people who enjoy the idea of a game called Super Lesbian Animal RPG. It's a classic-inspired turn-based RPG about a crew of anthropomorphic animals who're variously in love with each other fighting weird monsters in a dungeon to save the world and/or overcome their own anxieties... Read more.
- SLARPG v1.0.7 Changelog - 29 December 2022
Added a couple lines of dialogue if you return to Park Ranger Taylor after beating the Amber Woods boss in Act II. Added more dialogue at the mysterious pedestal in the desert to make it clearer that that area only opens up later in the game. Fixed the party sometimes retaining a dark tint when exiting the Basement Dungeon upon revisiting it in Act IV. Fixed players sometimes not being able to see the illustrations for an exposition sequence in Act IV. (Asking the character to repeat the scene would still allow the illustrations to appear as intended.) Other minor fixes.
- SLARPG v1.0.6 Changelog - 27 December 2022
Thankfully the universe listened and I didn't have to put out a patch on Christmas! Boxing day, on the other hand... v1.0.6 Changelog: Fixed a minor logic error with the sand levels in the Neon Labyrinth that could be caused if you tried to loop all the way back around the dungeon without using the first accessible sand switch. Fixed the hologram of Javis in the Neon Labyrinth hub potentially causing the wrong Quest Log objectives to be displayed if inspected again later. Fixed an error with the setup of a minecart puzzle that could allow the player to get stuck. Other minor fixes.
- SLARPG v1.0.5 Changelog - 25 December 2022
Santa's leaving everyone a very special present under the tree this year: another minor SLARPG patch! Wow! The Crypt's boss sequence can no longer be repeated. Further tweaked the application of Stun in the boss fight where it was causing issues. (If you still encounter an issue with Stun lasting outside of battle, resting at an inn will remove it.) Other minor fixes.
- SLARPG v1.0.4 - 24 December 2022
Another patch? It's a Festivus miracle! A few of Jodie's stat growth curves will no longer make some of her stats go down a point at certain levels. Noel's sprite will no longer disappear when facing north when finding them in the Amber Woods. Fixed the Recursive Loot Scooter bestiary entry not unlocking properly in one specific enemy event and a monster den. Fixed error in Beverly's side quest that could result in getting stuck on a black screen. The locks in the Flurry Mountains now use their own type of key separate from the ones in the Guardian's Vault to prevent a minor sequence break. (To prevent players who might have saved and quit in the middle of the Flurry Mountains segment from getting stuck, you can return to the treasure chests where you found the keys to claim the corrected keys.)
- SLARPG v1.0.3 Changelog - 23 December 2022
A late night patch! Wow! Act II Fixed a missing file crash when trying to visit The Hole when you're supposed to go see Claire at the library. You can no longer have Claire's tarot read without her present. You can no longer speak to Ipsy from behind in her garage to make her sprite disappear. Act IV Interacting with the punching bag in Melody's yard during a certain stretch of the story will no longer turn Jodie into Melody. Returning to the area where the Flurry Mountains boss is fought will no longer result in the boss still being there. The Uncanny Valley monster den exit now works properly. The Pine Corona enemy now properly drops its Bestiary entry and can be encountered in the Uncanny Valley monster den. After receiving a report that a Stun (which is supposed to last 1 turn) somehow lasted across multiple battles until resting at an Inn, Stun now has a 20% chance of being removed…
- SLARPG v1.0.2 Changelog - 22 December 2022
Another small patch to fix a few issues! Added an additional pause at the end of the "fight" with the sealed treasure chest in the desert to prevent status effect messages from lingering on the screen after the battle. Removed a leftover hidden test event that was attached to a random crystal and tinted the entire screen Game Boy green with no easy way to remove said tint. And as a failsafe, travelling between major areas will now always reset the tint of the screen. Minor typo fixes. Thanks again to everyone who's picked the game up in its first two days!
- SLARPG v1.0.1 Changelog - 22 December 2022
Hi everyone! Here's the first patch for the game to address a few errors that have been pointed out since launch yesterday. The title card at the end of the prologue now uses the same background as the title screen. The alternate entrances to the second town no longer open up immediately after opening the front gate, and now instead open up after completing the town's intro scene to prevent the player from getting stuck. Melody and Allison can no longer leave the inn in the second town on their own. Fixed a missing file crash when inspecting the painting in Melody's bedroom with Jodie in the party. Minor typo fixes. Other common technical questions are addressed in the FAQ on our website. We hope everyone continues to enjoy the game!
