• Mac OS Fix & SteamOS Plans - 27 June 2026

  macOS: I've updated a Steam setting to set macOS 64 Bit Intel binaries included, which should fix an error / incompatibility issue for some mac users on newer systems.Steam OS: After Remembrance is released (planned late 2026 or early 2027), I'll be working to see if I can officially add Steam Deck & OS support to Obsession as part of our 2.0 upgrade as well. (Never done this before, I'm just a mere single indie dev, but I'm gonna give it a shot and I've ordered and put myself on the waitlist for the hardware! 😁)

• What's next? - 11 February 2025

  Particles of Reality: Remembrance (the sequel to Obsession) is (tentatively) planned for release around summer 2026 and it will (I promise!) wrap up the overarching plot around Victor and the Ethereal storylines. (Hopefully in a satisfying way, that's the plan!) A store page on Steam will probably come sometime this summer with a demo. But we're not done with the "Particles of Reality" universe yet! After Remembrance releases, we'll have two new big content releases planned! Note: All images shown below are rough, early stage, rough-draft DESIGN documents made by me.   A few bugfix builds have gone recently out but the big one is a fix for a long-standing bug regarding the final game achievement! A big thank you to those players who helped me identify and resolve these issues via email and Discord. Note, to get the final achievement ALL of the following criteria must be met. If any of these are missing, the achievement will not unlock until they are done. • Update & DLC Release - 11 February 2024

  A new update v1.1.0 has just released. This includes a lot of final support changes for Alexander's upcoming DLC and a new sprite for Mrs. Gabriella Dallarosa (Sebastian, Alexander, and Isabella's mother). Brandon's patch has also been updated to include this new sprite. You will need this latest update to play the DLC and Brandon's update. Alexander's DLC is releasing on Feb 19th, 2024. Don't forget! A few choices in Alexander's DLC are locked behind the secret character's route, so make sure you've completed that character's route by release!

• Brandon Patch update - 31 January 2024

  A new build for Brandon's patch was just uploaded. This fixes 1 potential crash and some minor text formatting issues. Latest version can be obtained here. Note this build also includes the new Josh and David sprites, so make sure you have the latest build of the base game @ 1.0.0.12 or the route will crash. • Alexander DLC Store Page now available! - 20 December 2023

  Alexander's DLC Steam Store Page is now live! Wishlist it to get notified when it is released! Note this DLC is under active development. Screenshots and warnings displayed on the store page are likely to change. Alexander's DLC will release sometime in the first half of 2024, exact date TBD. The price will be $5 USD. Patreon members can play early builds as the content is developed and will receive a free key if the cost of the product is covered by membership fees.

Welcome Josh to the team, Brandon's beefy beefcake bodyguard! He is now in the game! (v1.0.0.10) David will also be getting a sprite in the near future! No other content updates just yet.   Handful of small fixes and updates. Censoring sexually explicit content now hides the penis on the cafe chalkboard. Censoring sexually explicit content hides the nude CG at the start of Sebastian's route for streamers of the demo. Set music and sound default for new games with no save files to 70%. Supporter screen updated DEMO: Fixed crash on opening the settings screen and on chapter ends Updated Twitter icon on contact screen XD Backend stuff for future Alexander route setup prep.

• New achievement & security changes - 25 September 2023

  Version 1.0.0.5 is now live. A new achievement has been added to the game to complete everything! All CGs & Endings, including 'What If' endings. It's been so cool to see the global stats growing as more players have been progressing and I'm so curious how many people have done it all! If you're still working on finishing the content, no actions required. :D If you're someone who has already done that - YAY - there's two quick ways to get it unlocked. You can replay... pretty much any ending in the game OR you can use the handy "Achievement Update" button on the settings screen. That's all! In addition, there have been some necessary backend security changes made to the game. This should not be noticeable by any players. But if it unexpectedly causes some issue, my first recommendation would be to use the 'Verify integrity of game files' button in the properties of the game. (Right-clic…

• New update, possible save file issue! - 23 September 2023

  An update was just pushed that has the potential to break some save files, depending on where specifically you saved. I’m hoping this impacts a very small number of users, if any at all. Note that this does NOT lose any unlock progress in game. This only may lose your current place mid-route. I apologize for this, but the way updates are handled on Steam is different than I expected, so I had to restructure some of the backend files to make updates easier and smaller in the future. This is what the error will look like if you encounter it. There are two very easy ways to get back to where you left off if your save file breaks. If you start a route and hit the Tab key, the game will fast-forward through content you already read. If you right-click ‘Skip’, you can skip all content until the next choice prompts. These two methods will get you back to where you left off in seconds! And agai…

• Demo Update v0.4.0.0-B2D - 15 January 2023

  It's been awhile since there's been a demo update! There's two major changes of note in this new demo build: 1. Julian's route has undergone some revisions. While the path and ending are the same in the demo build, there have been some significant changes to Julian's character and new scenes! A brand new character is introduced during his route. 2. Mini-stories have been added to the game, and have been made available in the demo! There are currently two mini-stories - one in Julian's route, and one in Sebastian's route. Mini-stories are text-only canon content. They are similiar to side stories, but shorter in length and without the backgrounds and graphics. These will generally take 5-10 minutes to play.
