  • Unstuck Update - 24 June 2024

We’ve been gathering feedback and analyzing data over the past few months. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, for which we are very grateful. However, our data has revealed a slight issue: the game is too difficult. While we intended for the game to be challenging, it appears we might have overdone it. Currently, only about 30% of players make it past B9 (halfway through the game), and only 5% manage to finish the game. Some levels are particularly easy to get stuck on, and since there aren't many ways to progress, getting stuck usually means game over. We wanted to address this issue and offer more paths forward. Here’s what we’ve done: Dropped hints across the more challenging production lines Completely redesigned the level unlocking system, making it non-linear (see screenshot) Added 6 practice levels to the B set to provide useful insights Additionally, this update incl…

  • Inside the Procedural Soundtrack - 9 April 2024

So far, All the reviews are super positive (thank you!). But they have another thing in common: many mention the game’s audio design. In this post, we will look at the game's procedural soundtrack: how it began and works. Omnibullet's genre mix suggests the most important thing about it is its mechanics/gameplay. Everything else including the audio design was just an afterthought. However, the audio design has gradually become integral to the game, even winning the Audio Award at GDS 2023. Before delving into the implementation details and music theory, it is important to explain how the idea for the procedural soundtrack even came to life. Genre Pivot and Removing the Speed Tower The game was not always supposed to be a Puzzle. Initially, we thought that it would be just an unconventional tower defense and the original mechanics reflected that. Once we realized that the game would be m…

  • First patch - 13 March 2024

Added controller support (experimental for now; the default mapping may change) Improved game- and level-loading speed (level transitions should be smooth now) Tutorial texts can now be disabled in the settings (at your own risk) Benchmark level does not grant achievements anymore In comparison, the full game now grants achievements for progress in the demo The dates of saved solutions are now displayed in local time instead of UTC The outline of the selected Input gate now renders correctly Enhanced UI for keyboard and controller and minor UI improvements Minor changes in tutorial and hints

  • Omnibullet is now available! - 19 February 2024

After more than 3 years of development, we are finally releasing Omnibullet. What started as a semestral project of three IT students is now a full-scale indie game with over 30 hours of playtime, dozens of levels, and a merciless difficulty curve. Ommibullet was developed with almost zero budget. Not counting our time, the only costs were the domain hosting and the Steam entry fee. Instead of doing marketing and other meta stuff, we have invested our energy into development, polishing, and delivering the best possible game to those of you who gave Omnibullet a shot, played the demo, or just wishlisted it, despite it being a very obscure game. If you decide to purchase the full version, we hope that we are delivering what you came for. If you like the game, please, consider writing a review as it can help tremendously with Steam visibility. If something does not work properly, or you ju…

  • Omnibullet is ready for Next Fest! New demo is out. - 5 February 2024

What is new: Scores and leaderboards: when you solve a level, you will obtain a score based on several metrics. This score is then visible in the leaderboards so that you can see how well you did. Czech translations: the game is now completely localized into Czech (can be changed in the settings) Brand new UI (no more gray buttons, towers have icons now) Advanced tower placement mode: multiple towers can now be placed at once (activate in the settings) Even less text in tutorials: learn by doing, not by reading Improved lighting Steam integrations (Steam overlay in the demo; Statistics and Achievements in the full game) Minor visual improvements What is coming soon: Saving and loading solutions for specific levels Release

  • Happy new year! - 1 January 2024

Thank you for playing, wishlisting, and supporting Omnibullet in 2023! 💙 We will enter the new year with a series of good news, so stay tuned. Good luck and happy problem-solving in 2024!

  • Demo is out and Devlog is on! - 26 April 2023

Hello! As the title suggests, we have released a demo version where you can try out the first line of levels (and a bit) and learn how to design systems for charging batteries. You can play the game on Windows and, as we've heard, possibly even on Steamdeck. None of the developers owns it, though, so we haven't tested that option. We will appreciate any feedback, be it technical or related to the game content. Please let us know! In other news, we have started publishing a devlog, which you can check out at omnibullet.cz/devlog/. Some posts discuss technical highlights from the development, and others bring general status updates and sneak peeks of upcoming improvements. Since we only work on the game in our spare time, we post rather irregularly, but hopefully, that won't deter you from reading. Thanks to everyone who has added the game to their wishlists! It means a lot to us and help…
