- Co-Op Cookin' in Re-Mustard: First Details! - 25 August 2026
Howdy howdy howdy! It's time to learn all about the local multiplayer modes in CSD:R, but before we do make sure this baby is on your wishlists! On to the multiplayer!Have it Your WayThe original CSD had a distinct multiplayer mode separate from its sequels, and going into this project I wasn't sure which way we should go: have the multi be the Cook/Expedite mode from CSD 1, or the split screen multiplayer cooking from CSD 2 and 3? Ultimately I realized- we could just have both!So I'm happy to say we will have both options available for players at any time during the campaign- let's break down how each one works!Cook/Expedite ModeGreat for novice and pro chefs, Cook and Expedite mode has one player cooking, while the expediter serves ready orders and decides which order to give the other player next. You can also switch roles at any time, so if you want one player to handle the cooking i…

- Sneak Peak at the NEW Recipes in CSD: Re-Mustard! - 3 June 2026
Hey everyone! David here, and we've been hard at work at makin' the remake to Cook, Serve, Delicious! Be sure to grab a wishlist if you haven't already!Today I wanted to give a sneak peek at some of the new recipes you'll see in the game! A big new feature I wanted to add is the addition of making nearly all the foods in the game upgradeable to five stars. Three foods will only be one star foods (Pretzels, Corndogs and Hash Browns), but the rest will be fully upgradeable. In the first game, you could get Beer and Chicken upgraded, but it never changed the difficulty or the food itself. That changes with Re-Mustard, as I wanted to add something fresh and challenging with this new update (and if you upgrade a food but don't like the upgrades, you can always "roll back" to a previous star upgrade to keep it more in line with the original.)Mmmm, Beer. You'll still be brewin' up half full and…

- Dev Update #04: Writing Recipes - 13 November 2025
We're making Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard!, a brand new remake of our original game! So what's new narratively for CSDR? Find out in this guest blog by Cook Serve Delicious series writer Nicholas Kraak. It's hard to believe it's been over a decade since we released Cook Serve Delicious. Before I started working on Re-Mustard I went back read through everything we wrote for the original (which felt pretty nostalgic). CSD1 doesn't have a conventional story like Cook Serve Delicious 3 or Cook Serve Forever, but instead creates a sense of place through the spam emails, food/equipment descriptions, and little things like the phone app.For Re-Mustard, the goal is simple: keep what works, improve what doesn't, and add new things tonally consistent with the original. EmailsFor the in-game emails, this means crowd favorites are still there (such as the bickering coworkers Dennis & Leo), but…
- Huge Dev Q&A! All the Details on Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard! - 12 August 2025
Howdy folks! Here it is, the massive Q&A we've been compiling for a bit now for Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard! Let's get right into it and as always follow me on Bluesky for more updates and be sure to wishlist and follow the game!Is Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard! a remake, or a remaster, or what exactly?I would call CSD:R a "re-imagining" more than anything else. It is completely new code, using a lot of our ideas and influences from the sequels, while maintaining the "spirit" of the original game. I'm going to be referring to this game as a remake below, but my goal is to have a game that feels fresh and new but at the same time feels like the original classic CSD at heart. You'll see a lot of the questions below illustrate how much new content will be in this game! Will the Autoserve mechanics from 3 and the Holding Stations from 2/3 be in the game?Autoserve will be in the g…
- Dev Update #03: A Dash of Pepper - 26 June 2025
Development updates can be tough- we're making lots of progress on the back end of things and getting our pipelines sorted out, and before you know it I'll be able to share a ton of images and details on the game! But we're just not quite there yet, so instead I'm going to be sharing some random things we're doing for CSD: Re-Mustard! But before I do, I'm going to be doing a Q&A for the next update in August, so post any questions you have in the comments of this post and I'll answer it! Woo!First off, in the initial screenshots we released for the game, we were going for a different approach to the design- we were mostly using the original game as a template for a brand new CSD. Ultimately I felt that was the wrong approach, and instead we're shifting more towards using the original game as a base design, keeping everything that people loved about the first while improving and expandin…
- Dev Update #02: Music to Make Sausages To - 13 March 2025
When I was making Cook, Serve, Delicious! I wanted to make sure it had a great soundtrack. Music is one of the most important elements in a game, but the problem was, I didn't have quite enough money to be able to create an entire original soundtrack. Jonathan Geer (composer of the entire CSD series) and I had previously worked on several games before CSD, and we worked out a deal where I could have a soundtrack made at a nice discount as long as that music went royalty free a few months after launch. I figured that would be ok- what are the odds that would even be an issue? Well, I still get to this day emails from people hearing CSD music in commercials, web shows, movies, just about everything you can think of that needs some catchy, fun music. My personal favorite is the Subway Halloween commercial. The music that has spanned the series has turned up in so many unique places, my per…
- Dev Update #01: New Beginnings - 24 January 2025
Hey everyone! There's a lot of reasons I'm excited for 2025, most of which is the fact that we're going full speed ahead on the remake of our 2012 classic, "Cook, Serve, Delicious!" I'm going to be posting bi-monthly updates from now until summer, where we'll likely switch to monthly updates, on the process of remaking this game, so be sure to follow CSD:R on Steam or follow me over on Bluesky for more updates! An old promo shot for the iPad version of CSD. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose When we first announced this game, I had a very different vision of what I wanted my life to be. I thought I wanted to be fully hands off coding, mainly because I thought I was bad at it. So I hopped into the more manager-specific type of game dev, and with that came Cook Serve Forever, which was a disappointment for myself in terms of gameplay and reception when it was first released in 2023. What…
- Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard announced for 2024! - 27 July 2023
I'm so excited to announce our next game, "Cook, Serve, Delicious: Re-Mustard!" is coming out in 2024! It's been ten years since our first CSD game hit Steam, and we've been doing numerous sequels and spinoffs ever since. Still there's always been a part of me that has wanted to go back and remake the original while keeping the same classic gameplay and style intact. We're going to have so much more to talk about in the months to come- for now be sure to follow us on our socials for more details on all the new and exciting features for this game! Some quick bulletpoints: This is an all new remake of the original- it takes what made the original so special and adds new foods, a new campaign, and a lot of quality of life features and improvements that makes it that much better. This game will take place before the events of CSD 2- while the original did as well it did not have the lore th…
