  Hey, everyone! So, we’ve been very quiet for a long while, both here and on socials, but worry not: we’re still working hard on Hellslinger! So here’s where we’re at and how we got there:We've made the decision to do some hard work now to prevent lots of potential issues and convert the entire code base over to ZSCRIPT. Most of the enemies and weapons in the demo use the much clunkier DECORATE which did the job but it was becoming increasingly difficult to add new stuff. So in the name of not having tech debt, an entirely new code base has been created.Bad news? This takes a lot of time. Good new? The hard stuff is almost done. The core weapons and enemies for the first 5-6 maps in the main game are almost done which means the real meat and potatoes work of level design is about to properly crank up. While waiting for the resources to be in a good state we've planned out all 10(ish) map…

• New Character Reveal: Gaucha - 24 July 2023

  Meet the latest character for Hellslinger: Gaucha! Gaucha is an Argentinian-American rabbit, 35 years old. Of volatile personality, charismatic and astute, Gaucha is hard to deal with if she doesn’t like you. A professional mercenary, she picks her jobs carefully to ensure she’ll only kill scum. Carpe diem is her motto: if she’s not on a mission she’s partying hard and living each day like it's her last, which is always a possibility in her chosen profession. Her training is extensive, founded on more than half a decade with the US army. She is multidisciplinary when it comes to weapon usage but she is particularly fond of blowing up anything and everything with satchel charges. Nothing more satisfying than turning everything to ash with the flick of a switch. • Small demo update and future plans - 17 April 2023

  First of all, we’d like to thank everyone for giving the Hellslinger demo a chance and supporting the project. Your feedback has helped us pinpoint the areas we want to focus on, and despite the long road ahead, things are looking bright. With this update, the demo is receiving an adjustment to the movement code aimed at addressing the “slippery” physics – gone are the days of platforming on ice, and we’re looking forward to hearing your thoughts! This is the only major change being updated or added to the demo for now, but we feel a significant enough one worthy of mention. With the dust settling we took a moment to reevaluate things, and reach a consensus on the path moving forward. Considerable work has already gone into re-balancing characters, refining combat, and filling out the enemy roster.
