Latest Steam announcements
- Extra Replenish & UI/UX changes - 3 June 2023
Now you always have an options to skip an upgrade in exchange for 2 usages of your main attack actions back. (upgrades are almost always the better choice though!) Changed some of the text boxes to be a bit bigger to allow for easier reading
- Fixed crash that could occur after resurrecting an adventurer - 2 June 2023
Just as the title says!
- Mid-run saves - 2 June 2023
You can now pick up where you left off in a run instead of having to complete them in a single sitting! After you beat a level your run will save, it doesn't do mid-level saves Once you reopen Rerun there will be an option in the menu called "Resume Run" Doesn't apply to daily mode runs
- Fixed bug in big levels where the randomizer mod is used - 31 May 2023
Fixed bug/crash in big levels where the randomizer mod is used, epic. also From Above + Crate Hater where crate hater damages the thorny unit will no longer reflect damage back onto you.
- Bit of balance & robustness - 30 May 2023
Painted knight now doesn't have the Dangerously Low mod If you res an adventurer you're given a Replenish before the battle Ending cutscene now plays properly the second time you beat the game in a single play session Robustness: trying to nail down a bug that is causing some crashes :| Ground work for mid-run saves, so you could play a couple levels, close the game then come back later and finish that run up! (Hopefully I can get this finished before the end of the week!)
- Added the Quick Action Menu! - 29 May 2023
Added a Quick Action Menu (right click unit). No more of the screen sliding around! Fixed Dominate upgrade for the Charm ability.
- Cutscene skipping and Deathswap buff - 29 May 2023
Skipping cutscenes (particularly the mystery room) now works properly Buffed Deathswap to now also diffuse firetraps and firebombs underneath the enemy you swap to
- Quick stability update (May 29th, 2023) - 29 May 2023
Fixed a crash that could occur after selecting a target / pathing destination Combat log should always show replenish now
- Release Update! - 29 May 2023
I'm excited to be releasing Rerun today! Most of the work has been just getting "things ready" for release. Here are a few of the in-game things I've been working on this last month in preparation: Content updates: The Pained Knight is a new miniboss who is very dangerous. Reworked about 40 existing levels, added 10 new ones! Added little cutscenes for when your adventurers die. Changed Thorn Armor so it also deals aoe damage on cast. Changed Ice Wall to be a bonus action. Usability updates: Full controller support! A menu that shows you controller & keyboard mappings. Tweaked all the screen-wide casting effects to be a bit snappier, and clean. (You can still disable them in the options menu). Sounds are no longer deafening, hurray! (and sorry). The generated dungeon map always has at least 2 paths to give the player more choice and allow them to avoid upgrades they don't want. Quick ac…
- Polish & Achievements - 23 April 2023
Content updates: Ability Usage Economy: changed to now always partially replenish after each run. You still have to keep track of how many uses you have but you no longer have to forego upgrades in exchange for more usages. Adventurer Log: now when you click on an object or enemy (when you aren't selecting them as a target) the adventurer log window appears which will tell you a bit more about that unit. You can now see the contents of chests before you open them! This adds yet another known variable when planning out your turns. Just trying to reduce needless randomness! Added about 40 achievements that will be available in the full release. Buut if you achieve them in the demo they should carry over and trigger when you play the fully released version. Usability updates: Added 4 new tutorial levels for first time players. This should help introduce new players to the mechanics bit by…
- Progression & Sawblade Update! - 16 March 2023
Content updates: Added a new hazard, the "Loose Sawblade", it bounces around the level giving you more ways to out maneuver your foes! (Or lose track of them and end up dead). Updated every level in the demo with a Sawblade (if I thought it'd make the level better.. it usually did) Added a couple new levels inspired by the Sawblade In the full game, there are now Ultimate Abilities, unique per character, enter the Mystery Room to find one! Usability updates: Mini-tutorial for initial level Cursor will now show a red (/) when you're trying to select an invalid target Cleaned up the UI for ability selection and added a little "Select Ability" call to action above it You should be able to see your upgrades on /every/ screen now. Controller is fully supported (just not documented.. yet =]) Options menu is available from every screen (if you see it missing, lemme know)
- NextFest Feedback Update 1 - 15 February 2023
Added helpful chat bubbles where adventurers now help first time players a bit. When using the mouse, click to drag is now your only way to move your adventurers. This means you should no longer get an auto generated path through lava, unless that is your actual intent! Updated chat bubbles to be a bit cleaner. Before they would sometimes chop off punctuation marks. The intro cutscene should no longer blink. Fixed some text color mishaps. Fixed blinking stat tags when you get the game over screen. Lots more to come but I'm hoping the first two help reduce friction a bit for first time players. If you have any questions, comments, bugs, suggestions, or whatever! Feel free to reach out on the Discord, Steam's Community Hub, or my twitter. Thanks for playing!
- A turn-based tactics roguelike [Steam Next Fest Stream] - 6 February 2023
Watch the developer (me!) play through the demo of Rerun and either fail and die horribly or make good decisions and make it to the end! I'll be taking questions and letting people know what my future plans for Rerun are. Rerun plays like a combination of Slay the Spire and Into the Breach. Each playthrough a random dungeon map is generated giving you fresh decisions on how to progress and upgrade your adventurers. Your ability uses are limited so you must use them strategically or risk running out near the end of a run. Retrying a few times (at least) is inevitable!

- Quality of Life Update (Demo) - 30 January 2023
Fixed a bug that was affecting AMD gpu users! Added drag & drop as an option to move your adventurers. Added a "quick action" panel that pops up beside your adventurer (when right clicked) this is useful for when you already know what action you want to use. Added casting fx to enemy casters. Added "Casts in X Turns" to enemy caster's stat tag. Changed "The Plan" screen to be a little more clear and a little less annoying for mouse users =] The Combat Log now shows who has recived items (and from who/what). Now when you try to path over Firetraps or Lava, you'll get a popup warning you. Tried to make the auto-pather when selecting a path a bit less strict, hopefully its better! Tried to make Toughguy's "Pull" action more clear when there are units/objects that could be pulled but are not in your line of sight. Or I just make it more confusing.. we'll see. If you have any questions, comm…
