• Weekly Update #7 - 29 May 2024

  What I added: finished sound design for airplane cutscene (just need to export the audio from premiere pro and add it into unreal engine) continued work on the dialogue tree finished date animations added end credits added music no "what I want to add by the end of the week" list this time. The demo is due on the 31st. I'm cutting checkpoint 4 for time constraints. I will be finishing checkpoint 3's cutscene and then I'm building the demo for publishing. I will continue working on the demo afterwards. No "weekly update" at the end of this week either. I will post my next one at the end of next week. I will hopefully have the full demo finished within another 2-3 weeks (so june 15th or 22nd). Thanks you all for the support.

• Weekly Update #6 - 19 May 2024

  ​What I got done this week: Achievement integration for non-steam versions (there is now a menu in the options and main menu for checking achievements and an in-game notification will pop-up when unlocking achievements if steam is not connected) Transitions between checkpoints are 100% done Checkpoint 4 is nearly done (I just need to finish the dialogue) That's about it for what I got done. I had a lot happen this week and wasn't able to work on the demo as much as I would've hoped.​ I gonna try to fully finish the demo by the end of next week. But, I may have to make the story more linear to reach the deadline for GDWC. Even if I can't finish the demo in the way I want it to be for GDWC, I will continue to work on it until it's in a state I am happy with. • Weekly Update #5 - 13 May 2024

  What I've got done this week: I finished checkpoint 3 started working out an idea for checkpoint 3's cutscene worked out an idea for relaying story information to the player in a realistic way have checkpoint 4 roughly 1/3 of the way done added NPCs an animations for said NPCs (this will mostly be used for the later stories, but there is one NPC in the demo) added a checkpoint/chapter select thing (you press the forward button to go foward a checkpoint and the backward button to back a checkpoint and then press the play button to start the level from that checkpoint. See attached image to get what I mean). added the base for steam achievement functionality added a cutscene for checkpoint 1 (not finished yet) and added 2 more achievements to the demo I got quite a bit done this week and am getting ready to finalize my demo for the Game Developer World Championship (it's really just a sma…

• Weekly Update #4 - 4 May 2024

  The demo is almost done. I'll just put a quick list of things I've got done then go into more detail on what is done and will be done. Achievements have been added added some secrets have the story (of the full game) almost fully mapped out added a second cutscene alright, with that quite summary done, let's start by going over the achievements. I've added 13 achievements for the demo and have 27 achievements for the full game. The achievements list for the full game isn't 100% done yet as I will continue to add to it as I work on this game. Next, the secrets. The secrets I've added play a huge part in the full game experience and have effects on the way the story plays out. That's about all I can say. As for the story, I can't really talk about that either. Finally, I added the bad-end cutscene for the first checkpoint. This cutscene involves a plane crash and is not yet fully complete…

  So, it's been a bit. Here's what I got done so far. I finished checkpoint 2 (it's fully playable is what that means). and I created a cutscene for the bad ending of checkpoint 2. • Weekly Update #2 - 31 March 2024

  Alright, new update. pause menu now works with controller pause menu is still missing a settings menu main menu settings now actually apply (I was dumb and forgot to make them apply) the game now saves progress the second checkpoint of story 2 is half done. I built the area, I now just need to add the actual story stuff Things I hope to get done by next week: pause menu having a settings menu settings menu working with controller button prompts having controller support checkpoint 2 finished beginning of checkpoint 3 (maybe even finishing checkpoint 3 if I can)

• Weekly Update #1 - 23 March 2024

  Alright, weekly update #1 is here. So far, I've gotten controller support for the game started. To fit with steam's requirements I will have to change button prompts to include correct button prompts depending on the controller in use. The pause menu works for pausing the game, resuming the game and exiting to main menu. Now I just need to add the settings menu. The main menu has full functionality with a settings menu for sounds and graphics, a exit game button and a new game/load game menu. Steam integration is not going well. UE5.3 doesn't like any of the plugins I have for steam integration but I'll keep at this. However, just to get the game working for a demo to drop during October of this year I will be removing steam integration for the time being.
