- Recipes and Movement Keybinds! - 23 August 2026
Processing Units and RecipesForgotten Seas has many Processing Units and Workbenches. The one highly requested feature was to display the recipes for all kinds of processing that happens in the game. For example, drying meat to make papaya jerky, drying bamboo, seafood platter, breakfast platter, grinding flour in the mill, making yeast, and many, many more! It is quite hard to keep track of them all. So each processing unit now has a button inside the storage that will slide out a recipe page to remind you what makes what and how. Movement Key RebindingYou can now remap movement keys and more! We have also added several new keybinds such as Sail Turning, Journal, Jump, etc. Go in the game and press ESC to bring up the System Menu. Click Settings, and you will see the new keybinds. The Runaway Boat - Multiplayer Fix We are happy to announce that we have fixed a network glitch that caused a boat to become unresponsive to commands in multiplayer mode. At times, leading it to continue to move (run away). This caused the boat to get lost at Sea. This happened due to a file conflict in the network loading module between the client and the server. Normally, after a failed or incomplete update. If you have encountered this issue, we apologize. This bug fix took longer than expected to fix as it was hard to replicate it on our end. We had been tracking this issue for several months. A big thank you to those who sent us their save files to help us investigate this issue. Please remember to leave us reviews! Every little bit helps! We are a very small team of 2, working on a project that is larger than life! Games like this are rare, and many indie teams have given up worki…

- Crafting Update - Craft from nearby chests! - 29 January 2025
Extended Inventory for Crafting You can now craft items using ingredients stored in nearby storage chests when using a workbench or the player crafting menu (C keybind). This feature only affects workbenches and player crafting menu, but not the tiered processing units such as drying racks, campfires, smokers, etc. Tiered processing units will continue to function (as they were previously) from their own respective storages. During the crafting process, the crafting system will first check for ingredients in the player inventory, then the storage chests. If ingredients are stored in different chests, the crafting system will progressively check for ingredients in each nearby chest and take what is needed, prioritizing the player’s inventory first. Note that if similar crafting ingredients are spread out in multiple chests, it will take from a random nearby chest For players who prefer a…
