  • New Feature - Private Matches - 24 June 2025

Greetings fellow Scrappers! This week, we're pushing an important update to the Demo build: Private Matches! This has been something we've been working on for the last few weeks, and in light of feedback received during Next Fest, we decided to prioritize the feature, rather than wait for a larger multiplayer update we have planned for the fall. The Private Match feature allows players to create 1v1 lobbies to challenge their friends directly, rather than using the regular Online PVP queue. Here's how it works:On the main menu, players now have a 'Private Match' button. Selecting this will open the Private Match sub menu.Once the host (Player 1) selects the Private Match menu, they are given the option to create a Private Lobby. The Private Lobby will automatically generate a five-digit, alphanumeric code that can be given out to a second player to join. The Client (Player 2) can then enter…

  • JUNK! 2025 Roadmap - 17 June 2025

Greetings Scrappers! The first half of 2025 has been exceedingly busy for us at 301. We launched our JUNK! Playtest in January, attended GDC 2025 in March, launched the JUNK! Demo in May, and took part in Next Fest in June, introducing the game to new players and our small but mighty community at every step of the way. I'm so very appreciative of everyone who's downloaded our game and played a few rounds, and even more thankful to those who have provided feedback so that JUNK! starts becoming the best version of itself. With all of this said, we’re only just getting started. I want to share some details regarding our development roadmap for the second half of 2025, and what we're hoping to accomplish. We're currently working on an overhaul to our matchmaking system and are building out a way for players to create and join custom lobbies. This will let Scrappers challenge their friends dire…

  • Next Fest is Here! - 10 June 2025

Next Fest is here! It's been a grind, but the team at 301 are excited to be included in Steam's June 2025 Next Fest event. While JUNK! (A Demo About Robots) is still very much a work in progress, we wanted to share our game with everyone while we're working towards an Early Access release sometime later this year. Our primary goal in taking part in Next Fest is to gain as much feedback, both good and bad, about our game so that future releases are able to exceed expectations of our target player base. So far, we've received a handful of notes on what features we should include as well as a few bug reports that we'd missed in testing. We want to extend our thanks to everyone who's taking a few minutes to play the game, and share their experiences, and look forward to fulfilling those expectations over the coming weeks and months.Thank you everyone who has taken a moment to check out our ga…

  • Update 20250603 - 3 June 2025

Corrected two outstanding bugs: Fixed issue where Client fails to connect to Host when launching match (outstanding PVP issue) Fixed issue where game was incorrectly scaling full screen setting (outstanding resolution issue)

  • Update 20250529 - 29 May 2025

I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has downloaded and played our demo this week! We're elated that so many people have either clicked that Download Demo button or have wish listed our game. We're digging into the feedback we've received and are evaluating changes to make JUNK! more fun for new players, and to correct a small list of bugs that have been encountered. Improvements: Reduced Level Requirements for most abilities (improving experience and reducing 'grind') Updated feedback form Added Discord Button to main menu UI Updated credits Known Bugs: PVP has issues where match is not accurately closed on back end, causing crashes when joining new matches (since the old match still 'exists'). We're reviewing networking code and extensively testing to solve this problem Significant display resolution issue when launching app on SteamDeck, currently researching a solution
