- Android Beta: Last Chance for Lifetime Free Access - 6 July 2026
The 14-day closed testing period for the Android port is over. As a solo developer handling this entire project alone, it’s been a massive push, but the finish line is right here. This is your last chance to get permanent free access to Disminal. I'm extending the entry window until July 10th, when the Google group and invitation link will officially expire. To secure your spot:Download the game from the testing link before the cutoff.Keep it on your phone so the testing counter keeps tracking. As a thank you, you will keep this version and the final public release completely free of charge. Thanks a ton to everyone helping me clear this milestone. After release I will resume the updates for both the Android port and Steam port of Disminal. there's still a lot of work to do and also 2.0 will be releasing in the following months (the elevator update)
- Disminal Android Closed Beta Test - 13 June 2026
Hi everyone Brian here, been too busy working on the Android port and if you're wondering yeah i watched the movie and i loved it. I am giving away free access to the upcoming Android port of Disminal while it is still in its closed testing phase. To launch publicly on the Play Store, Google requires me to run a closed test with at least 12 people for 14 consecutive days. Simply clicking the link isn't enough, the game actually needs to be downloaded and kept on your phone during this period for the counter to tick.Because the game features this massive world, it is quite a heavy download (around 1.5 GB). To make sure we comfortably clear Google's requirements despite the large size, I am opening up 30 or more slots for you guys. The Perks: You do not have to contribute any feedback or bug reports whatsoever, just having the game installed on your phone for two weeks completely fulfills t…

If you notice the Game version on the menu says 1.5.2 ignore it. it will display 1.5.3 tomorrow as of reading this change log.Changes:Color Tuning: Refined the color grading for Redzone (0.2) and adjusted the Caligula Poolrooms to reduce harsh white glare.Sensitivity Fix: Resolved an issue where low sensitivity settings were not applying correctly; gamepad and mouse now share consistent sensitivity scales.Volumetric Lighting: Re-enabled volumetric lights in the Poolrooms dark zone. This follows a fix for the crash caused by the Version 1.3 VHS filter (which is temporarily disabled while being stabilized).V-Sync: Fixed a bug where the V-Sync toggle was unresponsive; it is now fully functional.Resolution Fix: Resolved a conflict with the new MPEG implementation that prevented resolution changes after setting MPEG to OFF .Android Beta Testers NeededI am looking for 12 players to help test…
- 1.5.2 MPEG, VHS and Poolrooms AMD GPU Crash - 25 April 2026
MPEG modes updated. 480p and 540p replaced with Long Play (LP) and Extended Play (EP). Compression is less harsh now. MPEG now adjusts the VHS filter automatically so it doesn’t get overly intense. VHS 2 reworked and set as default. It’s closer to the original VHS effect from earlier versions of Disminal. The previous version introduced in 1.3 was causing crashes on some AMD GPUs near the Poolrooms Dark area. This should now be fixed. The older VHS variant may return later once it’s more stable and fully tested.

- 1.5.0 New Achievements - 16 April 2026
Hey everyone, new achievements just got added.Including hidden ones. These won’t unlock automatically if you’ve already reached the ending. There are 29 in total right now, and I’ll keep adding more with major updates, likely starting again in May. I’m still working on bugs, performance, filters, and general quality of life while also pushing toward the Android release. There’s currently a problematic bug in the Poolrooms section, specifically in the arch wall areas I call the mid sections. I can’t reproduce the crash on my machine, but on lower spec PCs or laptops it’s very likely to happen. I’m working on a fix now, it should be resolved within the next few hours, worst case by tomorrow.
- 1.4.1 bug fixes - 14 April 2026
Reported issues include unintended player camera movement during the opening sequence and when resuming gameplay before the camera pickup animation, as well as issues specific to the Poolrooms section. These should now be resolved. The wireless controller bug is still being looked into and should be fixed within the week. Also, a menu navigation issue where the return button wouldn’t restore focus to the previous panel has been fixed. Sorry about these issues, I’ve been doing a lot of work on Disminal behind the scenes, so a few bugs slipped in.
- 1.4 Achievements & Android - 10 April 2026
Version 1.4 is live This update introduces our first batch of regular achievements and a hidden one.For returning players: Launching the game should now automatically unlock two achievements based on your existing progress. If they don't pop up immediately, don't worry—I am implementing a secondary check based on playtime to ensure everyone receives what they’ve earned.Version 1.5 arrives next week: This update will bring even more regular and hidden achievements. Note for veterans: Any regular achievements in 1.5 will also auto-unlock if you have already beaten the game. However, the new secret achievements will not; those require fresh exploration and discovery. If you’re planning your first trip (or a return) to the world of Disminal, I highly suggest waiting for 1.5 to catch the full set of secrets. What's next? Once 1.5 is stable, I’ll be shifting my full focus to the Android release…

- Disminal 1.33.0: Control Hints & Resolution Update - 21 March 2026
Hi everyone, this update is mainly about making the game easier to understand and smoother to play, especially for new players. Control hints have now been added to help guide you through key mechanics. There aren’t many, but they weren’t clearly explained before, which caused some confusion (especially with things like crouching). Here’s a quick summary of what’s new:New Control Hints: The game now shows helpful hints as you play, teaching you mechanics like movement, crouching, zooming, interacting, and saving at the right moments.Works Across All Devices: Hints automatically adjust depending on whether you’re using keyboard & mouse, gamepad, or touch (for the upcoming Android release).Resolution Menu:You can now choose between different resolution options (useful if you have a very high resolution and want better performance)Updates correctly when changing aspect ratioResolutions are…
- 1.3.2 VHS Filter is back - 2 March 2026
The VHS filter in Disminal has been reworked entirely from scratch. Chromatic aberration, color bleeding, and that bottom messiness usually seen in VHS videos have all been replicated. It is still a work in progress, but this already makes it a good alternative to the MPEG (video degradation) filter. Filter tuning and overall image color adjustment controls will be added in future updates.
- 1.3.1 For Future Achievements and Control versioning Explained - 20 February 2026
A new ending detection system is now live, tracking progress based on total playtime and whether you've reached the end credits. this will come useful for the achievements i have planned for v1.4.0. For those curious about my versioning convention:First digit: Major world modifications or new game sections.Second digit: Technical features and UI improvements (e.g., v1.2.0 introduced the automatic location saving).Third digit: Bug fixes, patches, or minor additions that missed the previous minor update.some issues that had been recently resolved for 1.3.1 thanks to all the feedback by @Pixelguin and @mmustric from the previous announcementInvert Look: you can now toggle for vertical invert input, should work for gamepad and mouse.C for crouching: C has been also mapped to crouching along Left Control.Camera Jerk/Locking Up bug Fixed: a pretty old bug that would cause the camera to go bon…
- Disminal 1.3.0: Menu Redesign & Technical Polishing - 15 February 2026
Hi everyone, Brian hereI’ve been working on this update for about two months now. Since I’d love to bring this project to Android (Play Store) eventually, it simply wasn't possible with the previous state of the game—mainly due to the lack of a proper menu that integrated correctly with the Unity engine. Players rightfully had complaints regarding the QoL of Disminal. This update is my way of addressing that feedback and making the game feel as polished as it should beHere is a summary of my notes on what I’ve been working on:Menu Redesign: A complete overhaul for better navigation and engine integration.Sound Settings: You can now tune the "drop ceiling" noise through Ambient Levels, while Player Levels control footsteps and camera zoom sounds.New Zoom: Added a refined zoom mechanism and animation.Gamepad Support: The menu now instantly recognizes gamepad input if you decide to play wi…
- Automatic save system and Gamepad support - 25 May 2025
Disminal Update: Location Saving & Gamepad Support 🗂️ Automatic Location-Saving System You no longer have to worry about losing your progress—Disminal now features an automatic location-saving system. The game will remember where you left off, so you can jump back in and continue playing. 🎮 Gamepad/Joystick Support You can now play Disminal using a gamepad. While it's only been tested with a Logitech joystick so far, it should work with most standard gamepads. If you run into any bugs, compatibility issues, or have suggestions, please drop a comment and let me know BLACK BARS MOSTLY REMOVED, 4:3 ratio is now supported. GAMEPAD BINDINGS: R1/RB -> Hold to walk faster L1/LB -> Toggle Zooming (if pressed again it will zoom out/in while held) LT/RT, L2/R2 -> Hold these for crouching A / X → Interact Thank you for playing and supporting my first game, and apologies for taking so long to add…
