Howdy. As usual, I have been messing around with some other game prototypes. Regardless, i am back with another little update full of shit i felt like adding. This update is less content heavy than normal, but has some really nice QOL / performance optimizations that made a huge difference for me. On my PC I am able to stay above 60fps with all 4 mercs hired and 16 enemies in combat. Before these changes, the game would drop below 40 and stutter pretty often at that intensity of combat. (fixes, balances and additions update #4) Hi! I have been pretty busy with university coursework, and probably will be for the rest of my life. Regardless, I have been adding new content when I had the time for the last three months. This update is the result of all that. Hi! I got some more stuff to play with here. I have some midterms coming up so I wanted to put out some new stuff before doubling down on studying. There may not be an update for a few weeks as a result, but I will still be working on new stuff with my spare time. Additions NEW AERIAL THREAT: ATTACK BIPLANE. A slow flying attack plane that strafes ground targets, can drop bombs as well. Encountered in danger 2 and above. NEW AERIAL THREAT: HEAVY BOMBER BIPLANE. A slow flying bomber plane that targets ground enemies, can drop a devastating amount of bombs on target. Encountered in danger 2 and above. New Heavy Tank: AUTOCANNON TANK. Hi! I have some new stuff for you to play with. Mostly new gear items, as the current options felt lacking in terms of variety. There is also a new boss encounter. This one does not spawn naturally but is instead summoned with a special craftable item. Additions New Gear Item: ROCKET POD. Wrist mounted rocket pod. Uses HE ammo to fire a swarm of inaccurate missiles. Added to the SPECIAL WEAPONS blueprint. New boss must be killed first to get the crafting component. New Gear Item: STAKE DRIVER. Wrist mounted stake driver. Uses scrap ammo to fire a heavy metal stake that can penetrate armor. Can be purchased from the store New Gear Item: SCRAP CANNON. Wrist mounted scrap cannon. Hi! Here is some stuff I was working on this past week. Mostly small stuff and bug fixes, I got math tests coming up next week so I wanted to get this out before all that happened. UPDATE 1 Additions Added a new starting bolt-action rifle available in tutorial. Can be bought from the store if tutorial is already complete. Added a flamethrower obtainable through new blueprint (Special Weapons). Functions more like a gelled-napalm flamethrower than your conventional videogame gas flamethrower. Obtainable pretty early on.
