- Orestorm Patch Notes 0.8.6 : Controller Support & languages coming soon - 21 July 2026
Hey all. This is a 50/50 demo update plus a bit more roadmap.PATCH NOTES - 0.8.6There's been a lot of changes, since the last devlog. Most of it is still changing a lot, so I thought I'd just cover off the key ones.Heaps of tutorial usability tweaks. You now have a friend in the tutorial, hopefully this makes the world building and goals a bit clearer without the tutorial character being annoying. Rebuilt a lot of the UI to be a bit clearer. Still needs a lot of work, but it all works with controllers by default now, although I've disabled it for now since I'm not happy with the in game controls yet.Rune icons now look more like runes.10 new relics.Four new spells: Two damage over time spells, one that auto aims, and one that only shoots the directions the runes hit the base. This is the last content patch for a bit while I tee up the other big stuff we've got to knock off the list before…
- Orestorm Factory is Back in A Big Way - 31 May 2026
Hey all, Fourbius here. The short of it is, Orestorm Factory has a new demo, with brand new systems, and I think you're gonna love it.The loreOrestorm Factory has been a dream project of mine for a long time, but its been tricky to figure out how to make it be the best thing it can be. So I took some time away and wrapped up some other projects and came back with new perspectives. And now I'm really happy with the direction its going. Most of the mechanics in here have been rebuilt from scratch, to be scalable in mind. So from here I'm hoping bulking out content is going to be pretty fast. But I'm not dropping the release date just yet.So whats changed?Since the last Steam demo, basically everything. Since the last finalised version its been a speedrunning game, a roguelite, a tower defence, and incremental game. All trying to find a home for the mechanics that I've never seen any other g…
- Orestorm Factory Playtest Update - 3 October 2025
After an unexpected Haitus, Orestorm Factory is back with some pretty big changes. There were some base ideas in the previous demo that weren't working, most notably, some folks wanted it to be more Roguelikey, and others wanted it to be more of an incremental sandbox. As such, I've developed a new play test version made up of specific levels, such that its easier to get feedback on what style of game playpeople are preferring.I'm looking at getting feedback on the new direction before putting up a new Demo on steam, so if you like what you see. Let me know!A full devlog on the changes can be found below.

- Patch Notes 0.3.1 - 7 December 2022
Launch went well, feedback has been good so far. I made a couple quick tweaks to fix some common feedback. The goal from here is to leave the demo as is and get as many people playing it as possible. These basically covered: Balancing characters The consensus was Orbik and Eyes were too strong and everyone else was too weak. This should give all 5 characters a better reason for existing. Round 0 There was too much waiting in round 0 while you wait for ores, so I've significantly boosted starting Ronk and spawned two slimes so there's instantly something to do, and coincidentally not making the first few games before you buy upgrades as punishing. VFX changes Added a cursor and changed the crystal orb sprite slightly. Full info: Generic Gameplay Changes: Starting Ronk increased from 20 to 50 Powered drill cost changed from 20 Ronk to 15 Ronk and 5 Drimalt 2 Slimes now spawn at the start…
- Orestorm Factory Demo Is Live - 1 December 2022
Devlog #00 This is going to be a devlog/braindump of thoughts and ideas about where the game is at now, versus where I want it to go in the future. I’m a solo dev, which means while polishing and refining things takes a long time, rapid prototyping of ideas is incredibly fast. As such, the goal for this game, and this devlog series is to get the community involved in the game making process. Both with me providing insight into why I’ve made the choices I have, and taking on feedback from an early stage. What is Orestorm Factory Orestorm Factory is a BulletHell Roguelike where you build a factory of drills and processors to loot a cave, while dodging your way past enemies and your own deadly machinery along the way. Whoami I’m Fourbius, this is my first commercial game, the demo is now available to play, with the completed version of the game coming next year, although I plan on continui…
