• Version 2 Update now Available - 29 October 2023

  Hi Everyone The Version 2 update now available. With improved performance and Loading times. Patch Notes Improved Performace and reducing lag and frame drops in game Loading times reduced with Shader and texture optimisation. Fixes & Changes Casual Gamer Achievement fixed. Lion head removed in 213 and replaced with Lion head on Box. (Performance change due to high triangles) Light Bleeding reduced from some areas. Please note you should start a brand new game if you have saves still active please start a fresh game after update. Dave

• Game Update in Progress - 25 October 2023

  Hey Everyone I've been currently working on improving the Performance and Load times of The Orphanage and have made some progress which seems to be looking very good on the game running alot smoother on lower spec PC's. Current issues were with Loading times and Frame drops which only seem to be an issue on some PC's which are 3 years old+ I have had people test on higher end PC's and installed on SSD and the game had no issues with frame drops. However the patch I am currently working on seems to be able to run the game alot smoother and loading times seem alot quicker. I Hope to have this update out ASAP in the next few weeks as I will need to test the game alot to make sure no issues arise from all the performance and optimization tweaks. Also being a Part Time Developer I don't have a great deal of time so please bare with me and I will announce as soon as the update is ready. Dave

• Working on Improving Game Performance - 5 October 2023

  Hi Everyone I have had feedback from some people regarding Frame drops which I understand can be abit frustrating. I am currently looking into this to try and improve the performace of the game and eliminate the frame drops. Some people have reported no issues with frame drops but are running very high end PC's. It seems to be related to the Shadows from what I can see. I will be working on this over the next few week to hopefully bring out an update to hopefully fix the issue. Dave

• The Orphanage - OUT NOW! - 28 August 2023

  Hi Everyone Thanks for the patience and support with testing taking so long. But finally I am able to release my first project as a part time solo game developer. The Orphanage is a Puzzle/Horror game with somecomplex puzzle to test you and explorer for key items to progress into the game. With also the added obstacle of the resident doctor roaming the halls who is hunting you down. I have spent 3 years working on this and i greatly appreciate any support you can give me with any issues or bugs you may come across to help me improve the gaming experience. I will be activily game developing part time now so I will always respond when I can to any issues and hope to update the game best I can. Lastly I hope you enjoy my first project and hopefully can work on many more in the future. Dave

• Game Launch Delayed - 12 June 2023

  Hey Everyone Its with the deepest regret that i'm having to delay the launch of The Orphanage due to some very challenging issues from Testing. Currently testing has brought back some issues regarding Loading Saved Games. I've currently managed to make a temp fix for it but its not stable, And the last thing I would want to do is release a game which isn't stable with Loading saved data. Nothing would be more frustrating than progressing far into the game and hours of gameplay only to find that when you try to load your progress the game crashes and have to start over. I have been working on this for over 2 years and want to be able to bring you a game which is fun and not frustrating. I did toy with the Idea of Early Access but I want to make sure that any bugs that may arise aren't game breaking bugs. • Demo Achievements Now Live! - 28 May 2023

  Hi Everyone Just a quick update to let you all know that there is an update being pushed through tonight for the Demo of The Orphanage which now have the Live Achievements unlocked so for all achievement hunters out there your time has come! Also the demo has live stats at the end of the demo to tell you your total play time, How many times seen by the enemy, how many times you died and how many times you saved. This test has been a sucess for the main game which is 99% finished. I'm now going to be coding the Achievements for the main game for release on the 30th June! Dave

  Hi Everyone. You may have noticed some Achievements have appeared for the Demo. They are currently not live at the moment as I am using these as a test for the main game to make sure they are working with steam. • Game Development Update - 2 May 2023

  Hi Everyone I'm glad to announce that the development of my game has been going very smoothly. The game is about 99% complete with a few minor bits and pieces left to finish. I will then be moving onto alot of Testing to make sure I can iron out as many issues as possible. Problem is being a Solo Developer and this being my very first attempt at making a game, I'm fair new to this and don't really have many people to help test it so I'm trying to break the game myself to make sure its 100% playable with no issues to hinder the enjoyment and playability. So far though it seems to be going well and not many issues have been arising. So i'm hoping the next few week won't be much of a headache and can get the game finalised for Release in June.
