• Beau & Bow II? When? - 10 October 2024

  Hello everyone! Today marks four years since my first project was released online. Today also marks two years since the originally intended launch date of Beau & Bow was missed. In a way, it's like Beau & Bow's birthday as well. Even though the characters go back way further, but that's another story... Since the release of Beau & Bow I have continued to hone my craft. That is to say, I've worked on a number of projects. These included a 3D platformer, a top-down dungeon crawler, and a roguelike. I'd like to say that you'll see these projects soon, but they all fell through. I realize now that I enjoy making 2D platformers the most. 2D platformers with cute things in them. Things like bunny sweethearts and balloons with little blushing faces. Which has me thinking... Beau & Bow II? When? Soon.

  Happy Easter To Every Bunny! Audio Update: Pausing now gives the option to control both music and sound effects. Use your arrow keys when paused. Right and left to control volume, up and down to change between music and sound effects. Note: The credits default the music to the default volume. Continuing the game after the credits does not reset the sound effect volume. Thank you for your continued support of Beau & Bow!

• Surprise! More improvements are here! - 31 January 2023

  Hello again everyone, I’m here with more changes! QoL: Made it so you have to use start/enter to change from the title/bonus screens, instead of being able to use jump or the camera button. This way the player doesn’t accidentally skip past the bonus information stage at the end of the game. It will now be harder to miss-click when inputting a password as well. Passwords are now harder to brute force. Passwords work on the splash screen, controls screen, and title screen. If using a color filter, it will now persist after having a game over or when beating the game by default. The movement speed on the first boss has been slowed from 15, 30, 45 pixels a second to 12, 24, and 36. The first boss now has a slightly taller scan area. Bug Fixes: Password #1 & #2 now work more consistently. Fixed a minor issue where the color filter could not be changed off of the one in use without trying an…

  Have you ever realized the solution to a problem as soon as you left a classroom? Well, that's how I felt a few moments ago. But that's good! That means we can have another update! Beau & Bow Birthday Lunar New Year Update #2! Bug fixes: I found the source of the known audio problem. Some levels had an older audio check active alongside a newer audio check. This caused a hiccup where the first note would be played twice when starting that level. The problem should be fixed for good now, but if you happen across it, let me know. There was also a new oversight found when finishing the game and starting a new game. The player would retain their old health and number of continues from the final boss level. • Year Of The Rabbit & One Month Update! - 22 January 2023

  I'd like to take this moment to wish everyone a very Happy Year Of The Rabbit! It has also been a month since Beau & Bow was released. Thank you everyone for the support & Happy 1st Month Birthday Beau & Bow! Major Changes: Passwords. You can now skip to bridge levels, the levels found after a boss. Copy the code found on the sign in these levels and input it on the title screen. After that, press enter/start and like magic you're at that stage! Secrets. Some players found the secret color change, but not as many as I had hoped. Now, when you beat the game, a new screen will illustrate how to change between the secret color shaders. I also added two new color shaders for this update. Fixes: Bow. Improved collisions with walls and ceilings. She should no longer go into a crouch when jumping straight up into a ceiling.   Hello everyone! I hope that you're enjoying the end of the year with friends, family, and games. Speaking of games, this one has an update. I hope that you like it! Main Changes: Pausing the game now gives the option to change the music volume. The volume indicator is found between the health icon and the continue icon when paused. Jumping & Springs now have pitch variance to spare your ears the same sound again and again. Bug fixes: Fixed an audio issue where the first note of the Beach level song played twice when entering the stage. Fixed Bow becoming stuck when attempting to stand up out of a crouch near the edge of a crawling space. Quality of life: Moved a few NPCs on the third stage of the Beach level. • Merry Christmas! Here's some fixes. - 25 December 2022

  You might have noticed a number of updates these past few days. I've been fixing bugs and working on issues brought up by the community. For everyone's sake, I chose not to spam patch notes twice a day for half a week. Here's a list of what has been done since launch. Bug fixes: Fixed the platform bug mentioned in the first patch notes. Fixed a bug linked to the secret colors, caused by the colors overlapping each other. NPC moved on Beach Stage Level I to prevent a known gravity bug. Fixed, at least I hope, a bug where both characters can move at the same time. Cosmetic changes: Changed a few background tiles in a hat level towards the end of the game. Moved a few grass sprites and flower sprites. Quality of life: Secret skips added to Grass Level II & Grass Level III. Added a screen after the joke splash screen that explains the controls for PC. Reworked the collisions on several NPCs…
