- Fall slower and Throw Faster! 1.03 patch notes - 12 May 2025
A few small feedback changes: - The knight now has a capped fall speed and should less often outpace the camera when falling from great heights. - The actual frame in which the knight throws.. uh.. throwing things has been shortened. He should release the object faster. - A certain snarky end game boss will wait juuuusssttt a little longer at platforms in his first phase.

- Steam Achievements! - 28 December 2024
Patch 1.02 is live! The first round of achievements have been added into the game, if you've already completed them, they will auto update your steam account when you get to the main menu. There are only 5 to get so far, more coming soon! Fixes 1.01: Made a certain hidden coin reachable now. Fix fall through map location in the Waterfall level. Fixes 1.02 Changed a couple levels time goals to get 3/3 score. Happy gaming!

- Release Day Is Here! - 20 December 2024
It Is A Good Knight To Die has officially released! Thank you for all the people who supported this silly little project and to those who play it in the future. I hope you enjoy my first solo game release (especially if you like bad dad jokes). Obviously with any release, we're not done yet! Here are my plans for the future of this game: I look forward to hearing feedback and ideas to make the game better over the next year. Good luck, and remember, It is A Good Knight To Die!
- Demo Update V 0.5 - 29 November 2024
This is aiming to be the final demo update before game release! FEATURES Controller/Keyboard Mapping - Don't like how the knight is controlled? Change it yourself in the main menu. Added Cutscene - There's now a small transition between levels when you move from The Caves to the Dark Wood. Sprint - Sometimes you're in a hurry to kill a lich, ya know what i mean? Click in the right stick on your controller or press shift to get a speed boost. Hidden Collectibles - Keep your eye open for these hidden items. Score Screen - I'm timing you. >.> See how quick you can beat a level and beat your own scores. General Layout changes - Some levels have been altered. Juice - More sound effects, screenshake, grunts, and groans... General bug fixes! The game is nearing completion at this point, watch for it to go on sale soon! Thank you to everyone who has played or supported me along the way.
- Patch v 0.2 Update - 4 February 2024
Patch v2.0 Changes! - Text skipping changed to a more manageable button set. Jumping to skip dialogue seemed kinda wonky. - Now in the mines level, you need to hit TAB or the 'Y' button on controller to use the doors. No more accidental teleporting back and forth! - A simple settings menu added to the main menu. This will allow you to toggle between fullscreen and not full screen and change the volume for the music. Future settings will be added (sound effects volume and keybindings mainly)
- Less Talkie MORE FIGHTY Demo Build 0.13 - 12 December 2023
0.13 Patch Changes This quick patch adds a little Quality of life and some small bug fixes and changes. Players can now skip dialogue with the TAB key and on controllers. This won't work in the intro cutscene, i'm making you watch that, so there. Certain conversations won't trigger multiple times in the same run. Treant boss leaves make you fly! Treant boss vines spawn smarter Werewolves tweaked again. No more surprise rocks on your head in the first level of caves.
- Look Out Below! Demo Version 0.12 - 4 December 2023
With more great feedback, comes more updates! GAMEPLAY Holding the down button will now let the player look below them before leaping to their deaths. (You can still leap to your death if you want though) Some traps can now be stood on. If it looks like you can stand on it, you probably can. Certain areas should be easier to platform on. Werewolves won't ignore knockback from sword and shield nearly as much. Level design improvements Give it a shot and let me know what you think!
- Demo Update #2! - 4 December 2023
Thanks again for all the helpful feedback. Due to your awesome thoughts, the following fixes and updates have been implemented. Combat: Sword swing is even faster now! There should be almost no windup from our knight anymore. Same update to his jump attack, it's much faster. "tap" jump should be significantly larger. Clearing those gaps with a tap should be possible in more places. Game: Removed the mace from "wolf den" level, as it could cause the player to get soft locked from completing the level. Bug Fixes: Controller users should no longer get the "character flip" bug, and now you can make the knight moonwalk! Attacking just before landing no longer forces you to wait for your attack timer to finish. Should feel a lot more fluid when spamming attacks and jumping about.

A few small fixes and tweaks based on feedback! Thanks again for everyone who has tried the game! Update 1: - Knight's sword attack comes out faster now. The windup was giving some players trouble figuring out the timing, this should speed things up a little. - Spinning blade trap now moves slower - Fireball mages now shoot slightly less often - Waterfall level exit now properly loads fade out screen - Fixed a small issue where black fade out screen didn't cover menus if they were open - Shield bash/block now should knockback more enemies (Knock those skellies into spikes) More on the way!

Heyo everyone! For the past three weeks I have been pushing hard to build and and publish a demo for "It is A Good Knight To Die." Look forward to playing through the first two biomes and about 10-20 minutes of content of hacking through skeletons, mages, werewolves, and TWO nasty big bosses... While being harassed verbally by your mortal nemesis.
