  • Development of Terrytorial Disputes on hold. - 3 April 2025

TLDR; I failed the community, I failed the game, and I failed myself. I shut down and ran. I sincerely apologize. TD’s Development will be paused for a while. I’m sorry. My absence has been due to my debilitating depression & anxiety. I shut down completely. I was afraid to leave my own house. I was afraid to talk to friends and people I knew. I was afraid to face the criticisms over my inactions and broken promises. I did not deliver on the promises made around Terrytorial Disputes. TD started as a side hobby project to master coding; When I got laid off I decided to commit 100% to it. I had a little bit of money saved up, so I took the risk. I’ve been designing games, maps, and scripts for close to two decades. This was my first time making something of this scope & complexity. I bit off more than I could chew. Technical debt from the old code was built up making bug fixes nightmarish…

  • Steam Deck Verified! - 14 December 2023

Shareholders! Terrytorial Disputes is now Verified on the Steam Deck! Gabe Newell has personally tested my game on the Steam Deck, and graced Terrytorial Disputes with Verification! (joke) One of my goals for Terrytorial Disputes is to make it a fantastic bed-time gaming Tower Defense game, This verification is a huge step towards that. There is an official config for the Steam Deck that has most features of the game bound to the controller's inputs. RECOMMENDED: - Disabled Edge Camera Panning - Switch to 2 Column sidebar - Use the left track-pad Radial Menu for quick Structure Category Selection If you have feedback or thoughts about how to make the Steam Deck version of TD better, feel free to discuss in the Steam Community or join the Discord! Dividends soon, Terry - Terry @ Terryble Interactive

  • Steam Awards "Best On Steam Deck" Nominee?! - 21 November 2023

Shareholders, I'm excited to share that Gabe N. at Valve Software has personally and individually nominated Terrytorial Disputes for the "Best on Steam Deck" Award (joke). While we are not currently Steam Deck Verified, I believe we will be very soon. I want Terrytorial Disputes to be a full featured Tower Defense that I can play in bed on my Steam Deck. Of course I don't expect us to win anything, yet. We will manifest a Steam Award in the future by working towards it now! Please vote Expand & Exterminate: Terrytorial Disputes - Endless Base Defense for the "Best On Steam Deck" Award! Originally he had suggested that we aim for GOTY, but it only lets me pick one. Additionally, it would've been unfair to other games on Steam if we won GOTY right out the box. Motivated To be Nominated, -Terry

  • Autumn Sale + Update V2.75: New Cutscenes, Purchase Tech In-Game. - 21 November 2023

*This update is to the Default Branch, changes should be playable by all users at time of this post* Gamers & Shareholders! Autumn Sale is upon us, and I wanted to use this opportunity to release a new update along with the sale. If you're new to TD or a returning player, Welcome back General. I'm excited for this update, the largest change is the ability to purchase Technologies after defeating one of the King's Champion enemies that are every 25 rounds. I genuinely feel like this update is another step forward towards refining the game play elements and formulas. I'm aiming for monthly update, but I believe the amount of content in this update will make up for the delay. I tried to grab significant changes to put in the change log, but I'm also not the best at writing down every change I make. A notable amount of time was also dedicated to making the experience on the Steam Deck even…

  • Dev Log & Update V2.21: New Enemies, Balance Changes, and Bugfixes! - 10 October 2023

This update is to the Default Branch & Demo, changes should be playable by all users at time of this post Shareholders! I have pushed all of the changes and improvements from experimental to default, and additional hotfixes. I appreciate your patience as I figure out the exact balance of this game, I believe each update we are getting closer to a great balance baseline. I do recognize that as I add new units and status effects, they might take a couple of updates to perfectly find their home. Management Terry has paid McClancy & Company over $12 Million to consult us on improvements for the game. Upon much research the consultants reached the same conclusion that one of our low level programming Terries already knew; The Map generator is holding us back. Below is a cool dev diary showing off what I'm doing with the new map generator, and why I believe it's a foundational step into tower…

  • [Dev Beta] Update V2.17: New Enemies, Balance Changes, New Logo, and Bugfixes! - 6 September 2023

As a Dev Beta, this build is currently accessible in the experimental branch Gamers! I want to thank everyone who bought Terrytorial Disputes, as of this update we are slightly above 500 units sold! I've received a ton of feedback, I want to especially thank the 80 people who did the survey. It's all been read and organized, a lot of it will go into future systems and changes, but there were changes that could be done quickly. I've been working on the new version of the map generator, the current map generator is the oldest part of the game. The scope and features that I need out of the map has vastly outgrown the current system. I don't want to release a lot of information about it since a lot of features are in the works, but I honestly believe it'll be a great addition to the final vision I have for Terrytorial Disputes. I appreciate your patience as I figure out the exact balance of…

  • First Update! V1.90 - 2 July 2023

Gamers! I'm excited to release the first batch of fixes and updates, just trying to keep polishing and fixing before adding new content. The feedback since release has been fantastic, I want to thank everyone that has put in time & effort to report bugs and give detail notes that I can work from. I've captured a list of the most common feedback I've been getting. I'm moving UI work way higher on the list, and I hope to start pushing out minor fixes, especially on the easier things to implement. Happy Gaming, Terry June 26 - July 2, 2023 - V1.90 Fixed: Bunch of changes in stats for Structures, Turrets, and Enemies. Prevent Structures from being sold multiple times Fixed LOD errors on 2 vehicles Possible fixes to prevent users who are experiencing issues with the camera constantly attempt to go to a corner of your screen. Fixed multiple typos. Fixed couple of config errors on power plant…

  • Early Access Release! Terrytorial Disputes is avaliable! - 27 June 2023

Gamers, Terry Here, it is with great excitement that I announce that Terrytorial Disputes is now available for purchase! Terrytorial Disputes has exceeded my wildest expectations since I started working on it a year and a half ago. In my eyes, TD is just beginning; the systems are stable and ready to be filled with content. The past year and a half has merely been the tutorial level, the warm-up; the real race starts now. We have just made it to the starting line. I look at the code that I wrote for this game at the start and it's incredible how much I've learned since, and I am more than ever aware of how much I really have left to learn about being a developer. From writing the code, testing, marketing, UI design, game design, and balance. These is so much to do, but such a beauty to watching everything come together. I'm consciously trying to avoid writing a classic Terry overly verb…

  • Steam Deck Compatibility & Performance Update! - 7 June 2023

Gamers, Terry here, I'm so excited to announce and release the Steam Deck compatibility "Update". A lot of the features to become Steam Deck Verified have been slowly introduced in the last couple months. My goal is to maintain compatibility with the Steam Deck going forward, I believe the game is a blast with the Steam Deck, and I believe performance and usability are at a good spot where I'd love to hear feedback & ideas on how the experience on the deck can be improved. Control during the shops or menus should work, but the touchscreen and joysticks should always work in case of errors. RECOMMENDED: Disabled Edge Camera Panning & Switch to 2 Column sidebar for best usability experience. It's using two action-sets; one for In-Game and one for Menus. Why Terrytorial Disputes is great on Deck: Converted Cutscene(s) to Webm VP8, this will make cutscenes compatible with the Steam Deck & M…

  • Update: Balance, UI, and Steam Deck Improvements. - 30 May 2023

Gamers, Terry Here, I got my hands on a Steam Deck, spent the majority of this week working on changes to the balance, rebuilding all the tech tiers, and optimizations for the Steam Deck. This isn't *THE* Steam Deck update as I'm still working on getting the controller config off the deck and on to my PC, but it's being worked on. The game is a blast on the Deck, I've added inputs for the Time Scale buttons, Repair/Sell/Advance buttons, and 6 building categories, so that they can be configured to buttons on the Deck. I've added Vulkan API options specifically for the Steam Deck. 6 New Turrets, 1 New Structure. Added: Fully converted to Unity's "New" input system, ironing out the bugs for full controller support, this is also step towards re-bindable keys. Little function that'll dynamically adjust the Camera's Render Width so that objects under the right hand UI bar are not rendered; De…

  • Playtest Update to V1.40. - 21 May 2023

Hello Generals, We have a cornucopia of bug fixes and balances changes thanks to the kind folks that are giving feedback, I appreciate it a ton! A heck of a change-list considering it's a minor update, a ton of small undocumented changes to enemy & turret stats. I'd love to hear more feedback about the balance, it's tough for me to really experience the game from a fresh player's eyes, so I have a hard time balancing for new players. Thanks Again, Terry Added: You can now manually tell a turret to fire at specific enemy units. This should help you generals clear any pesky aggressive enemies. Self Repair Technology added to the Tactical Center, it'll be interesting to see how this affects game play, I intend to give higher Tech Tier walls this technology as well in the future. Fixed: Falcon Helicopter's behavior was updated to be more in-line with the current system of detecting enemies.…

  • Playtest is live & Demo Update! - 12 May 2023

Hello Gamers! Massive update drop, Rebuilt a ton of systems based off of previous player feedback, and now I'm ready for feedback once again. There are a ton of minor changes, but I'll the biggest changes: -Ton of Performance & Optimization work, LOD and material changes. -3 New turrets/structures -15 new vehicle models. -Dozens of new technologies -New Map generator Chunks, Performance work, and Gem generation consistency. -New effects & explosions -New UI work -4 new enemy status effects (Slow, Stun, Fire, and Dodge) I've been working non-stop for a couple months now on this build, I believe all of the major bugs have been taken care of, I am focusing on balancing and getting all of the numbers to work together. Steam page and Demo are both live! Please Wishlist & Share! Added: -Unique voice line when your tactical center is under attack -Loading screen that plays a little cutscene, I only have one cutscene made so far, but I like it. -Feedback/Report button in-game so users can submit bugs and other reports directly through unity. -Box Select and Pointer Select cursors should now appear for structures and UI you can interact with respectively. -Basic Steamworks integration. Changed: -Rewrote the part of the map generator that deals with recursion. Recursive portals should be less likely to spawn on top of existing terrain, and also properly generate cliffs around the portal. -Research Slot now appears after Tech structure has finished being constructed -More model optimizations -All the category buttons now blink when a new structure has been unlocked in that category -Changed the ore generati…
