- Reported lead of Obsidian's new Fallout game wants you to feel a "sense of agony" when playing an RPG, rather than being an all-powerful god-splatterer - 21 July 2026
Look at the nice fellow in the featured image of this article. Look into his eyes. Look at the slightly awkward grin plastered across his face at the moment in a YouTube video on his channel that I've chosen to pause and take a screenshot. This is a man who wants you to feel "a sense of agony". To be frustrated and perplexed as to which outcome to choose. This is a man who knows you can't feed the world with a set of laser eyeballs. This is Fallout: New Vegas director Josh Sawyer, who recently made some points about RPG building that are worth dissecting in light of his reported new gig as head of Obsidian's upcoming Fallout game. - Fallout: New Vegas gets a Mojave interpretation of Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood, thanks to this assassin-focused faction quest mod - 14 July 2026
While there's never been any shortage of characters who'll pay you to splatter some brains across the desert with your trusty anti-mat rifle in Fallout: New Vegas , a new mod adds a whole extra faction based around being a post-apocalyptic assassin. They're dubbed the Dark Family, and you get no prizes for guessing which robed gang of Elder Scrolls dagger-enthusiasts they're based on. Read more
- Fallout Chicago is a new mod based on the best game in the series, and you can play now - 23 March 2026
Fallout New Vegas is comfortably my favorite Fallout game. Aside from the iconic setting, Obsidian perfected the first-person formula and Bethesda has never risen to the gauntlet it so valiantly put down. From Caesar's Legion to the difficult roleplaying decisions it forces you to make, New Vegas might not only be my favorite Fallout game, but one of my favorite RPGs full stop. If Fallout Chicago, a new mod that adds a "DLC-sized expansion" to the game, can echo any of that roleplaying goodness, we're in for a great time. Read the rest of the story... - A "Cowboy Coalition" battle NCR corporate imperialism in this freshly released Fallout: New Vegas quest mod - 25 February 2026
Yee haw. If you've ever thought Fallout: New Vegas is a little low on folks in stetson hats whose spurs jingle, jangle, jingle, then this new quest mod will almost certainly be in your saloon. That's provided you're up for an unapologetically political story about NCR-backed Brahmin barons facing resistance from groups of local ranchers keen to avoid having their steads swallowed up by big business. - "Step into the shoes of NPC man" with this Fallout New Vegas mod that lets you get faction cronies to do your dirty work - 18 February 2026
Rubbing shoulders with factions is a big part of the Fallout: New Vegas charm, even if it often devolves into you doing a bunch of favours if you don't want to risk ending up on the vilified naughty list for one too many accidental grenade pickpocktings. You do get some nice perks for keeping the likes of the NCR or Legion on side, but a new mod aims to take that to a new level, letting you send faction cronies out on handy odd jobs while you kick your feet up. - Recently unearthed Fallout: New Vegas builds could be "incredibly useful" for modders, preservationists claim - 28 November 2025
Pre-release builds of Fallout: New Vegas recently unearthed at a shop in Utah contain rare files which could be "incredibly useful" to expanding what modders can do with the RPG. Well, at least they doe in the estimation of the folks who claim to have found them, a group of preservationists whose current online presence only looks to have popped up last month. Read more
- Fallout: New Vegas' latest modathon has flying robots, evolving gear, and cheeky waving in its pockets - 20 November 2025
Ok, yep, it's one of RPS' biggest New Vegas /Fallout heads, here to tell you about some New Vegas mods that've recently dropped. Why? You might ask that. You're quite right to. It's because there's a general Fallout modathon going on over on Nexus Mods right now, and I've spotted a few works released as part of it so far which I reckon are worth informing you of. Especially since next month's gearing up to be pretty damn New Vegasy, thanks to a certain TV series . Read more
- MacVulpes InCulkin stares at a guy spitting blood, as Fallout season 2's latest trailer sets up many family searches - 13 November 2025
Ok, before you get angry, all I know is that the Home Alone guy's playing someone either in Caesar's Legion or who dresses as a member of Caesar's Legion, not that he's nailed on to be wolf hat bloke. I just liked the headline. Now that disclaimer's out of the way, Amazon's Fallout TV series has gotten another trailer ahead of its December 17th debut. As previous trailers have outlined, this chain of episodes is set in NEW VEGAS. That's NEW VEGAS, the setting of obscure 2010 RPG Fallout: NEW VEGAS . There are characters, factions and things from NEW VEGAS, which the established cast will be interacting with because they're heading to NEW VEGAS. Capische? Read more
- Obsidian knows we want "the next Fallout New Vegas," but it's finding more "joy" in original creations like The Outer Worlds 2 - 5 November 2025
I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't go berserk if a new Fallout New Vegas got announced - especially if Microsoft and Bethesda let Obsidian take the reins again. While other entries come close, it remains my favorite game in the post-apocalyptic series. However, even if the trigger did get pulled on New Vegas 2, I genuinely don't think Obsidian would want the gig. It's been cheffing up its own projects at a remarkable rate, and is even finding the time and passion to go and cram turn-based combat into Pillars of Eternity, for crying out loud. In a new interview, a prominent figure at the studio discusses how it's found a lot of "joy" in nurturing its own ideas and forging a true 'Obsidian identity' - one that doesn't rely on other peoples' IP. - New fan-made Fallout New Vegas remaster is the game I wish Bethesda would make - 16 September 2025
There are only a handful of games that I believe need remasters at present. Dragon Age: Origins is the first. BioWare's seminal fantasy romp had so many brilliant, original ideas that deserve another chance to shine. Besides, I've still never played the human prologue and it's a real pain to get to work on modern hardware. The other game is Fallout New Vegas . Obsidian and Bethesda don't seem interested in printing free money, though, so fans have taken it into their own hands to create a stunning mod that updates the game's graphics for modern sensibilities. - Fallout season 2 radiates NEW VEGAS with a trailer heavy on stupid sexy House and a December debut date - 19 August 2025
Fire up the geiger counter, the second series of Amazon's Fallout TV series just showed off a trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live . It premieres on 17th December. If it wasn't clear already, this chain of episodes is set to take us to NEW VEGAS. I said NEW VEGAS. That's NEW VEGAS, the setting of obscure 2010 RPG Fallout: NEW VEGAS . Understand? I don't think you do, so let's all look over here while I point to this sign. It says Lucky 38, which is a casino in NEW VEGAS. Read more
- While we wait for Fallout 5, New Vegas just got a huge visual upgrade - 28 July 2025
Fallout New Vegas is the definitive Fallout experience. The Mojave Wasteland's gritty yeehaw vibe is unmatched, while an Obsidian at the height of its powers has yet to be bested in terms of writing wizardry within the series. It's a complete RPG in every facet, and would be my dream pick for a remaster, especially now Obsidian and Bethesda operate under the same umbrella. This, of course, would be years away, but the good news is that you can leverage modern graphics settings in the existing version of New Vegas right now. Read the rest of the story...
