- Titles, Testing and Upcoming Release - 17 January 2026
Hello again!Cool UpdatesLately we've been working on few improvements to keep players engaged in the game and feel a sense of growing.Thats why we introduced Titles. Titles are a good way to understand how skilled you are compared to other players. It sets a goal for players - not just an empty number. They will also be used in 1v1 ranked play mode called Versus to determine matchmaking. We have also refined the "online integration" to not be as forced as it was before. Online, ranked, legacy maps are now part of a small optional drawer, and not part of the main game. Our goal is to provide a seamless offline experience enriched by online features. Not an online-centric game. Also, I we're extremely excited to announce that our testing has begun with members of the team, as well as some active players. Thank you, we'll keep you updated on how testing goes. Game releases 20th of February.
- 8 months of development recapped - 10 January 2026
A small recapThe journey to develop a new version of Rhythia, enhance UX, add features and make it a better game has proven way more difficult than any of us could have expected. Ignoring all the bumps and challenges along the way, I want to say - THANK YOU to everyone who helped with anything - testing, ideas, art and soundtrack. Before the read, small reminder that Rhythia's launch is on February 20th 2026.User experienceOut of all the bumps we expected along the way, making the user experience good was unexpectedly the hardest- and we're not sure we have done a great job to this day. We essentially spent 8 months refining main menu and different views users interact with - and it kept getting harder and harder to design something worthy. Even the smallest elements, such as volume knobs, proved that given bad positioning, can interfere with critical parts of the game.Alpha prototypeIte…

Game UpdatesOne of the most interesting updates we did last month is Offline Profiles. The game will feature online-like profiles for you to play without internet connection. This also mean you can have multiple profiles to keep track, or have multiple people playing from a single machine.Story modeBesides the update we just shared, we also want to announce a new mode for Rhythia, called Story. It will contain a set of curated songs and maps to help users get started and learn the basics of the game before diving into community maps.It will consist of 5 bosses with 3 songs each. More about this in the followi…
- Rhythia is now releasing on January 16 - 1 December 2025
Hello, We're extremely sorry for announcing this small one month release delay - but we strongly believe that more buffer for the development is gonna help us reach the quality everyone expects from a Steam Release. We don't want to release an Early Access title. Our objective is to offer our players a full end-to-end finished game. Our main priorities are now - polishing and launching a marketing campaign.Rhythia is now releasing on January 16. Thank you!
- Expanding to all Platforms - 24 November 2025
Hi!In this small update, we'll cover some important updates we have been working over the last 3 weeks to deliver what we consider the best experience for cross platorm players. The last 3 weeks we worked on the following major updates - - Porting the game to a more team-friendly environment - Expanding the availability to browser, and other systems. Since the beginning of creating Rhythia for steam, our main priority was to create the most available Sound Space client there is - and we can't wait to share it with you. The main challenge was abstracting many parts of the game to allow compatibility with anything. Community updatesWe have greatly improved some of the website's pain points, by adding a cache layer and improving the speed x10 on some parts. We have also launched a stickermule page for you to get some cool Rhythia t-shirts, stickers and keychains. We earn nothing from this,…
- Organizing Maps in Rhythia - 11 November 2025
Hello again! As promised, we'll be sharing some cool features from time to time, and keep you updated with our overall progress. Our current track is - Polish the entire experience - Improve quality-of-life of existing UX flows - Rework core aspects of the code to allow for multi-platform compilation (such as Browser support).Updates:In this quick sneak peek, we'll be showing the cool new "collection" integration within the client that allows users to quickly categorize and organize their maps. Besides the Favorite tab, we want to allow more granular categorization. Simply, right-click on a map, and add it to a collection! Then the game will do the magic of organizing them and allow you to collapse the categories. News:On another positive note, we're actively working to bring a Discord server to life, an announcement is extremely close and we're in an active recruiting stage for full-ti…
- Redefining Skinning in Rhythia - 6 November 2025
Game Updates As we approach a release date for Rhythia on Steam, I want to share some really cool updates and changes we've been working on, to bring skinning, customization and personalization of the game to another Level. We have worked to have most of the stuff generic in the game, and have the ability to extend, replace or customize any small element. The things we started with are In-game elements, such as: - Notes - Cursors - Panels - Borders Our goal was to support the following formats when replacing elements: Sprites, meshes and Sounds. The new settings panel, allows players to visualize in Live mode the changes they do and how the game is gonna feel like. This was important because we know it's usually frustrating to modify blindly gameplay settings. Another aspect we worked on is having a "library" like feel, where users can select between multiple files they have stored, and…
- Statement from the developer - 1 November 2025
Hello,As we're in the middle of a large backlash around the development, it's important to address some points that have been made. There are a lot of misconceptions and misinformation floating around about the game as a whole.During development, it's extremely normal to use tools to build certain parts of the game—mostly boilerplate code that saves a lot of time. This includes AI tools. I'm working constantly on the game, and it's hard to watch actual progress and improvements being attributed to "slop." Secondly, the target of the Steam release is not to capitalize on or steal the game, but rather to expand the core player base, popularize it, and get the game out into the world. There are no hidden monetary or malicious intentions; we're spending our time to deliver a completely free-to-play game. Thirdly, no one on the team is currently working for or associated with any big company…
