• Vampire's Best Friend, new Metroidvania by sink - 12 June 2025

  Flap through peril in my new precision "batformer" that flips platformer trappings upside-down!I've always loved the simplicity of NES games and Vampire's Best Friend was inspired not only by the look and sound of a game from the 80s, but the hardware and scope limitations as well, focusing on a really fun and simple concept. It combines an open-ended structure of metroid without limiting your exploration with upgrades. Instead you face a bunch of precision challenges using your unique flying mechanics as a bat that lead you around winding paths through a gothic castle. A demo is out now for steam next fest, if it seems cool please wishlist it. Thanks a lot :)

• Version 1.2 patch - 16 April 2023

  Just finished another patch for Shooting Saucer! Mostly changed stuff to make the game play smoother, like improving the framerate in some laggy areas. Now that I have all the bugs people told me about so far fixed, I can move on to making some more significant content updates for the game :) thanks a lot to my buddy onlinefrog for helping with the optimizations and bug fixes for this patch! here're the detailed patch notes: -Optimized the tile drawing system to improve overall framerate -Made level design changes on the cave level and the secret level, mostly to make it easier for Turr -Fixed a crash involving the squid stack enemies in the city level -Fixed the player getting slightly jerked to the right when the saucer first spawns into a level -Orbs now bounce when they land on the damaging floor in the secret level, making them easier to collect -added a version indicator on the op…

  Thanks a lot for playing the game! It's been a really nice, if not hectic, release week for me haha but I'm really glad to see so many people's kind words and feedback :) I just finished the first patch fixing a lot of bugs that players had reported to me. Thanks a lot for telling me about them, and if you find any more please let me know! Here are the patch notes for version 1.1: -Turr and Krinkly now start with 7 lives instead of the usual 4 to make up for the fact that neither character can obtain 1-ups like the others -fixed some cutscenes crashing the game when playing as Paraffin and Tippy -made slight changes to the cave level for Krinkly to make it more consistently beatable -fixed the unlock conditions of a locked character -fixed music sometimes playing twice by accident There are still a few more bugs I'm working on fixing, but I wanted to get some of these fixes out asap Tha…
