A few more bug fixes, with special thanks to Ventz Petkov for the great bug reporting! Gameplay Fixes - Object collision fixes for things like the Western Tower entrance, lightning barrier, etc. - The shield in the Freestad Caves should no longer be on the wrong layer. - Leith's bed should now have physical form, preventing you from walking through it like a creeping ghost. - When switching between mouse and gamepad or using the Steam Deck trackpad as a mouse, the player's toolbar should no longer switch selection when moving if the mouse was left resting over the toolbar.

Gameplay Fixes - Game should now correctly resume at fullscreen when returning from screensaver or alt-tab. Quality of Life Changes - Gamepad / Steam Deck users should now see tile highlighting when farming to help with your farm layout and seed placement.

New Features - Steam Cloud Saves : Synching games across platforms and devices should now be possible via Steam Cloud. To ensure you have this functionality enabled, open Steam and click Steam -> Settings -> Cloud. Bug Fixes - Naval combat victories should now correctly update the coins displayed from the coins you get as plunder.

- Dreaming Isles is Live! - 13 January 2025
After more than four years of work, Dreaming Isles is out! In a way, this is only the beginning. I'm already starting work on the 1.1 Homestead update, which you can read about here. - Chapters, Achievements, and More - 19 December 2024
With less than a month to go before launch, I've been wrapping up design and development for chapter one of Dreaming Isles. Along with some final gameplay functionality, I've implemented Steam achievements and Steam screenshot functionality. From here until launch I'll be playtesting and bug fixing to the best of my abilities. I'm sure there will be bugs post-launch (what game has ever launched without any?), but I'll do my best to find and squash as many as I can. Soon after launch I'll begin working on Chapter Two's content. - A Change in Release Date - 19 September 2024
Being a solo dev is wonderful for so many reasons, but it also has some downsides. One of those is the inability to test and debug every scenario and every possible sequence of events in a game as complex as a farm sim. No matter how much testing I do, until the game is in the hands of many people, I can't know all the bugs that are lurking and ready to leap out. It also means that it's difficult to see the forest for the trees as far as gameplay goes. It's hard to see the big picture of how it feels for a first-time player to experience the game. Now that more people have played it, I've come to the painful conclusion that Dreaming Isles is not quite ready for release. It needs more polish, more debugging, and more gameplay clarity. - The Dreaming Isles demo is live! - 11 January 2024
After nearly three years of work, the Dreaming Isles demo is live and available to play on Windows, Mac, and Linux! The full game will be out later this year, but I've tried to include many of the key features from the game. Start your farm, meet some of the islanders, earn your first boat, sail around the Isles, engage in naval battles, and craft items to help you on your journey. The full game will have more islands and areas to explore, a boat workshop that will allow you to store and upgrade multiple boats, a fishing mini game, boat races, festivals, deeper relationships, and many more islanders to meet! - Dreaming Isles Demo and Next Fest Update - 27 October 2023
Hi all! I'm getting closer to completing the playable demo for Dreaming Isles. It should be ready by the new year, but possibly sooner. Dreaming Isles will be in the February Next Fest, so I plan to get the demo out well ahead of that. I want to get plenty of testing, feedback, and debugging done prior to the fest! - Playable Demo Coming Soon - 9 July 2023
Hi all, I'm busy working on a playable demo for Dreaming Isles that I hope to have ready by the fall. It will take you through the intro and some initial quests, let you start your farm and earn your first boat, and even sail to some neighboring islands.
