Pledge for the campaign!In this last 24 hours, I’d like to take the chance to thank everyone who has contributed along the way, whether by adding Outcasts of the Rift to your Steam wishlist, playtesting, giving feedback, hosting a livestream, or pledging for the Kickstarter campaign. All of you have helped in countless ways and I would not have made it so far without you. Outcasts of the Rift has appeared at two dozen live events and seven online events. Over 100 playtesters have played Outcasts of the Rift in person and online, and these are only the ones who filled out surveys about their experiences. Hundreds more have played the game without filling out a survey. On Steam, Outcasts of the Rift has over 700 wishlists and more than 200 downloads. Outcasts of the Rift will participate in Anthro Festival from August 21-25, 2025!To celebrate, not only is there a new trailer, but the new Outcasts of the Rift demo has been released! This new demo, Version 3.0, is a vast upgrade over the previous demo, Version 2.0. Some new features include greatly improved UI, new difficulty settings, including the ability to customize experience gained (Want to play a 0% growth playthrough? No hacking required!) a ranking system, accessories that can be equipped to boost stats, different types of food that only certain animals can eat, and a cooking system! Now weather, terrain effects, and time of day changes influence gameplay in strategy RPG maps. I’m not going to spoil all the new surprises here; you’ll have to play the demo for yourself! During this time, attendees can view a portfolio full of concept art and illustrations, talk with the developer about Outcasts of the Rift, and play the latest version of the demo live! Why wouldn’t you just play the demo on Steam, you ask? You’re more than welcome to do that, and I encourage it! The Steam demo is longer, containing six chapters and about 1.5 to 2 hours of gameplay. The live demo is shorter, so that as many people as possible can play it, and contains two chapters and about 20-30 minutes of gameplay. While the Steam version runs better, since Outcasts of the Rift runs better on desktop computers than laptops, the live demo is always the most recent version of Outcasts of the Rift, since the Steam version takes longer to update. - Indie Playtest Fest Continues! - 7 September 2024
Outcasts of the Rift is one of the games participating in Indie Playtest Fest! 2024 is the inaugural year of this online indie game event featuring games in development. As a bonus, I, Magenta Fantasies, also designed the Indie Playtest Fest logo! There are over a dozen games that gamers can play, share feedback about and be entered in raffles to win prizes! I have decided to extend the Indie Playtest Fest raffle deadline for Outcasts of the Rift to October 7, 2024. This means you have an extra month to play through the Outcasts of the Rift demo and submit your feedback for a chance to win prizes! After October 7th, you will still be able to fill out the survey and share your feedback (in fact, I’d truly appreciate it!) but the raffle will have ended. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity while you can!
