In under three weeks, Trans Theft Horso will be at A MAZE Festival or Playful Media in Berlin. Good news, everybody! Trans Theft Horso has been nominated for some awards at A MAZE Games and Playful Media Festival in Berlin. I'll be there, championing the game, speaking my limited German, and meeting lots of creative people among the nominees, exhibitors and audience.This is very exciting for me, as (1) I'm not the sort of person who gets nominated for awards at European festivals and (2) there's a chance we might win an award and (3) this will be my first time going abroad in over half my lifetime. I'm particularly excited to go to Germany, a country which has produced some of my favourite things including (a) sausages and (b) lots of good movies, especially (c) Die Zweite Heimat, which is one of my favourite films, even though nobody I talk to has ever heard of it.So yes! Trans Theft Horso is currently on its lowest ever sale to celebrate its inclusion in AdventureX, a glorious convention celebrating narrative games.The convention has come and gone -- I met many wonderful game devs and many wonderful other humans who (openly or behind closed doors) desired to be game devs. It was an honour to be on display - our Trans Theft Horso booth was between Dark Queen or Morthholme and Midnight Barber, and in close proximity to Dusk Punk and Mops & Mobs -- all intriguing games and very good neighbours to have. - A small October patch, with pigs and food - 15 October 2025
Howdy-doody! Another fifteenth day of the month brings another small update. This one is mainly to clear up a couple of technical issues and to add pigs.The game no longer forces full-screen. I was asked for this, and you're absolutely right, I should never have made it all-full-screen all the time.There are some pigs now! Not a lot of them, but it felt like they were a missing animal. You'll find them near Fast Boots.All the food at Skeletown now looks like something! If you wanted to see Sausage Hedgehog (v), your time is now!I feel like I did something else, but I can't think what.The next update of note will come on the 15th of November, and after that the next Trans Theft Horso thing of note is the game's appearance at AdventureX convention in London in late November. Howdy-doody! Two months since Trans Theft Horso came out, and two months and a bit until we get to take the game to a booth at AdventureX in London! This months' update is a small one, but not in vain: - Added a duck who says 'quack' to replace the accidentally-findable top-secret testers-only data screen - If you're having trouble getting through the guinea-pig parade, those intitial guinea-pigs will eventually relent and reduce in number so you can take your fishy further. - On the subject of fish, the fishes in Elmer Lakey's lakehouse now animate, and if you take a good look at them you get to have a number of short, fish-themed conversations. - Fun fact which you might already know: 'fish' is both singular and plural, but 'fishes' is used when you're highlighting that it's multiple different kinds. Trans Theft Horso is available this week (18-25th August) at a discount, to mark the release of the August update (which permits more appreciation of our four-legged friends).In not-quite-yet-but-soon news, the soundtrack release will emerge within a fortnight, and I have some exciting news brewing about a real-world event in November - but this remains to be heard! It is my fervent hope that all these matters will bring about gender gladness.(Gender gladness can be had in real life at zero cost, of course, by petting an animal, drawing a picture of a chicken, or looking in the mirror and saying 'hubba hubba' at the top or bottom of your voice. Version 1.01c is now up on Itch and Steam Small changes in the new version - Battenbergs are now held aloft by balloons, as nature intended - A late-game conversation about a bedroom is no longer missing - Blood will now stay where I put it - Quite a remarkable set of amendments to capital letters. What a fun Tuesday that was. Incidentally, I've seen American players mystified by battenberg cake. It is, quite simply, a cake. It looks like a window, but it never tastes like one.

Another small tweak, based on reported bugs and my own desire for a cleaner pancake zone. It's now possible to read the Book of Insulting Epithets from your inventory, and I've made it far more likely people will experience an optional (and ideal) part of Act III which currently relied on a lot of unspoken stuff happening during Act 2

A tiny tweak to fix a bug which left a guard haunting you long after your (rather brief) combat. (Many thanks Flipkick for raising that to my attention) I also removed a couple of instances of a word which did not at all mean what I thought it did. (Thanks to ~Avery~ for flagging that up).

Howdy-doody, friends of all genders! Trans Theft Horso is now out. and I hope it will bring hope and gender gladness (GGs). I've been working on this since its title came to me three years ago. I dearly wanted to play the game I imagined when I heard the words 'Trans Theft Horso', but nobody else was making it, so I summoned it into existence myself.Which of us has never longed to traverse the West, striving for justice, with a skunk on our head for company and protection?The last thing added to the game before release: a bonus pancake-making simulation!
