The director of Moon and Warcraft is still dreaming of making a movie version of Full Throttle , the classic LucasArts adventure game about rough 'n' tough bikers and lovers. A year ago Duncan Jones released a tentative script he banged out in a fit of procrastination, and in 2022 he's still thinking of the smell of asphalt. In a cheeky wee tweet over the weekend, he asked fans to bug LucasOwners Disney to let him do it. Read more

Tim Schafer's classic point-and-click biker adventure Full Throttle is currently free on GOG. Released back in 1995, Full Throttle was Schafer's first solo project at revered point-and-click developer LucasArts, having previously co-designed Day of the Tentacle with Dave Grossman and co-written The Secret of Monkey Island and its sequel with Grossman and Ron Gilbert. While Full Throttle retained the comedy abundant in Schafer's previous work, it was considerably less romp-y than its forebears, mixing its humour with a touch of post-apocalyptic grit - although it's technically only set in a more desolate version of our world. Day of the Devs, for those not in the know, is an event in San Francisco that lets fans meet and talk shop with a bunch of game developers in what usually becomes one big celebration of various nerdoms. Today I’m wearing my leather jacket and trying to convince Cara to bop me with a plank then toss me into a bin, celebrating the launch of Full Throttle Remastered . Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions have updated and re-released LucasArts’ 1995 stonking adventure game, which Tim Tam led development on back in his LucasArts days. Parts of Full Throttle always niggled and annoyed but it rose well above them, and I’m hopeful that still holds true. I can’t think of any game in the past 22 years which has surpassed Full Throttle’s opening, for starters. …
