  • Dream Catcher 2.0 - 1 March 2026

(March 1st 2026)FINALLY! A NEW UPDATEDream Catcher 2.0 is here. This has been the longest time gap between updates. The good news is that time was well spent rewriting large sections of the game. Here are some of the highlights from this update.IMPROVEMENTSAdded particles when walking and jumping.Footstep sounds now change based on the floor material. The hitboxes of enemies is now based on their real size.Wild tulpas now have the same portable light as the follower. The follower's light will now automatically adjust brightness based on nearby light levels to avoid blinding you.Significantly improved the way the sky looks.Changed how the breeding system works to be based on time (Keep in mind that time does not pass while in battle).Breeding now allows for random mutations.Added a large quantity of sound effects…

  • Streaming with Moongaku - 24 February 2026

First and foremost, thank you for your patience. You've all been very nice and very patient waiting for the new update to come out. And update that I've been working on for almost 6 months now, my longest amount of time spent on a single update so far. You will have to wait a little longer still. The next update rewrites large portions of the code and changes almost all aspects of the game. Because of this, I've decided that the next update would be version 2.0.0. On the 25th of february at 7:30 PM (EST), will be streaming a private (unfinished) version of Dream Catcher that showcases new features from 2.0.0 on twitch. I will be in the chat to answer questions but mostly I will be backseat gaming. Here are some of the features that have already been finished and may or may not appear on stream:Weather system.Day/Night cycle.Hats.Petting.New breeding mechanic.Improved animations and soun…

  • Dream Catcher 1.8.2.1 - 7 January 2026

(January 7th 2026)Well this is embarrassing. After 4 months of working on "the big update", I have to release this small patch to address some security vulnerabilities that were found recently. This update has no new features but a lot of bugfixes, optimizations and a few visual upgrades.CHANGESOptimization : Greatly reduced multiple sources of lag spikes (Talking to a NPC or doing an attack notoriously caused up to a 1 second delay).UX : The game will no longer try to adjust for both mouse-and-keyboard and controller at all times. Instead, the game tries to guess which one you are using and adjusts only based on one (This means a less inconsistent camera).UX : Added a prompt indicator when an interactable object is highlighted. The indicator changes based on whether you are using a controller or not.UX : Reworked the camera to be easier to use on different devices. Specially controller…

  • Dream Catcher 1.8.2 : Fancy Update (Part 3) - 15 September 2025

(September 15th 2025)I've heard you loud and clear. Everybody wants a better world map. The world is too blocky! I get it.This will be the last "Fancy Update". The next update is the big one. Don't expect it for a couple of months but I will make sure the wait is worth it. But that's next update. Here is what I've been working on these past 2 months (Other than playing silksong). The focus of this update was to make skills look and feel more unique from one another by adding sounds and animations. I also reworked breeding to be less of a chore.CHANGESTulpa : Added 8 new evolutions. (Every tulpa evolves now).Tulpa : Most tulpas learn new and improved skills. (Cubble no longer learns a skill that regenerate mana, but no skill that uses mana)Tulpa : Bunibble's new evolution comes in 3 unique forms. (The forms are purely aesthetic)Tulpa : Bunibble was changed to come in 3 colors by default.…

  • Dream Catcher 1.7.5 - 11 May 2025

Here is another update just in time for Steam's Creature Collector Fest tomorrow. This update also focuses on improving battles. Specifically, making battles easier to understand. This will probably be the last "Battle Update" but battles will keep improving little by little every update. My plan is to add around 3 evolutions per update on average.
