Hello, everyone! The alpha demo I presented last weekend in Munich is currently being reviewed by Steam. Unfortunately, I don’t know how much longer it will take, but hopefully it will be ready this weekend!I’m sorry for the delay to everyone who has been waiting for it. Higher powers (and, of course, a bit of perfectionism on my part) are at work here. Please stay tuned!Best regards, pixlerin
- Devlog #5: The Lost Hotel - 8 November 2025
The best season ever is when it smells like pumpkin spice and gingerbread at the same time. CHANGE MY MIND! I dare you not to.And because I love the change of seasons, Halloween and Christmas so much, that's exactly what you'll find in the garden of the Lodestar Hotel: four seasons, all at the same time, and a farming system where you can sow and tend to different seeds and seedlings in planters.Of course, there is a lot for you to do as a hotelier first, because the garden is not in good condition. There are two garden sheds with tools, and a gardening robot is waiting to be restored to working order with your expertise in electronics to help you with your gardening. Little by little, the garden can be restored to its former glory and various plants can be planted. Care must be taken to ensure that the seeds are sown in the right area. Exotic plants such as a pineapple-like fruit or th…

What does a spaceship hotel need apart from a reception and rooms for the hotel guests? Yup, a crew to steer and control the spaceship! On the 5th floor of the hotel there are crew quarters, a canteen and of course the bridge. The rooms are still under construction, but the new characters have just been finalised. The crew consists of 8 crew members and they can only rarely be encountered at the start of the game, as you as the player do not yet have access to certain rooms. However, when you meet the individual characters and get to know them, you realise that there is a little soap opera of its own going on on the 5th floor with all kinds of drama. I don't want to give any more away at this point, just this much: you will have an influence on it.May I now introduce (from left to right):Undine "Dini" - Security CadetBram - Chief of Security and ChefT.J. - first officerCaptain CarterSan'…
- Devlog #3: The Lost Hotel - 13 April 2025
An important gameplay mechanic is the dialogue system, which I want to make feel dynamic and natural. This means that when you talk to a character for the first time, you really have to pay attention, because you can't repeat the dialogue right after you finish it, and the character might get annoyed with you the more you try to talk to them. No worries, the timeloop will save your socialising skills! You can repeat the dialogue every day, as the NPCs will forget what happened before and unlock more answer options to steer conversations in certain directions. There will also be a log in your device, also known as the player menu, where you can re-read the conversation and remember any forgotten information. As you talk to different characters or find out information about them through the ongoing story, more options will be unlocked. Don't worry about seeming like a weirdo who knows eve…
- Devlog #2: The Lost Hotel - 20 November 2024
Before I bring you up to date on the dialogue system, I would like to briefly inform you that there will be some mechanisms in the game that can be described as mini-games. The Lost Hotel will have a number of features and mini-games that should be a nice way to pass the time, but are also good for unlocking areas or dialogue options. I dedicated the whole two months of September and October to the development of three mini-games called "Cocktail Mixer", "Code Hacker" and "CapsulePets" (that they all start with a C might be a coincidence). One of them has even been released, please read to the end to find out which one and where :D One of the first things you can do in the game is to create your own hotelier signature drink at the lobby bar. You decide the shape of the glass, the ingredients by taste, aroma and texture, as well as a range of different toppings. There are endless ways to…
- Devlog #1: The Lost Hotel - 16 August 2024
It's about time for another update! Of course, I'm still working passionately on my game so that I can release a small demo this year. But I don't want to promise anything, I want to do it right and not quick & dirty. In case you haven't noticed: the shop page now has new images and a brand-new cinematic teaser. I've been focusing a lot on the characters over the last few months, both in terms of designing and writing the story and dialogue. As with other games, you start out as a bored employee - in this case in the hotel industry - dreaming of a better life, when suddenly a job offer appears on the screen: "Hotelier Wanted". "Why not?", you think, and apply immediately. It's not long before a shuttle arrives to pick you up. A shuttle? Yes, and it will take you for 4 days through space to a hotel spaceship, the Lodestar Hotel. There you are greeted by an unusual pair of twins called Pa…
- Devlog #0: The Lost Hotel - 18 February 2024
Hello, pixlerin here! I thought it was time for an update. I'm working on The Lost Hotel alongside my normal job as a software developer. It's my big dream to release this game one day and my motivation is huge ːsteamhappyː Once I had the idea for The Lost Hotel in my head, I was immediately hooked. I started designing the characters and the lobby of the hotel, as the graphics of the game play an important role for me and the nostalgic effect. This is what the lobby looked like at the beginning: But since the hotel is in space and is supposed to be a kind of spaceship/space station, I thought it was too unfuturistic. I tried to combine the classic hotel look with science fiction and ended up here: But this is far from the final product :D I've still got a few things to work on and already have a new sketch for the lobby on my computer, which will be realised soon. The characters haven't…
