• Two New Levels and a new Ship - 12 June 2023

  And it's here - the last chunk of the additional content promised waaaay back when. "Blitz" and "Volcano" special missions The "Pulsar" experimental ship. How you unlock this one is a secret, but the achievement icon is a clue :) Improved enemy spawn algorithm for improved performance and smoother gameplay Behind-the-scenes work has already been done on adding combination weapons - these will unlock when you have the pre-requisite weapons installed for even more options! Expect at least two - the lightning bolt and the horizon mine - in the next patch.

• Halfway Patch - 13 May 2023

  So half the new content promised for the "next patch" is in this one, as we figured these bugfixes needed to frolic free and unhindered. Main mission and ship selection is navigable by controllers again /facepalm Lightning weapons properly scale off coverage upgrades and work on turrets Shield collision improved and several quality-of-life tweaks added to make them more useful First "secret" level unlocked via achievement included First "secret" ship included; unlocking it might just be connected to the aforementioned level...

• Quick Bugfix - 21 April 2023

  Just a small patch to fix a few reported bugs: The tutorial now works again...oops :P Improved visuals on the singularity weapon Reduce damage of the Orb special weapon Increase damage of the Reality Wave special weapon

• Visual Update - 18 April 2023

  Redrawn the Lunar ship to be more inline with the original concepts Completely recreated the industrial level background pieces Added more variety to the backgrounds for the Space, Jungle and Cave missions Changed the way the game handles different resolutions - turns out some of y'all were losing bits of the play area Finally fixed XP collection visuals The first two Steam achievements have been added to the game The occasional phantom collision bug still exists, sadly, we're still trying to track that one down. We were hoping to include a new level in this patch, but the original boss idea for it didn't really work in playtests, so it's been pushed back to the next. To make up for it, the next patch will include at least three new levels, and the first of the secret ships.

• Small Bugfix Update - 20 March 2023

  - Restarting a level no longer crashes the game (doh). - The final boss of the first mission now actually comes back if it charges off the screen. - Parts of bosses should no longer suddenly hit warp speed when the main boss is destroyed. - Slightly less flickering on the effects for the shard cannon and ricoshard weapons. - The Cargo Ship with special weapon upgrades is now rate-limited so you won't constantly get them spawning towards the ends of missions. - Some more performance improvements around certain weapons.

• New Level & new game modes now available - 17 March 2023

  - The special level for the first mission is now playable. Most of you have probably unlocked it already, so it will be immediately available in the new mission selection screen. - "Hyper" and "Infinite" game modes are also now available. Game balance is not guaranteed :) - Re-balanced the Solar's Orb special weapon to make it more useful initially and slightly less over-powered as it levels up. - Behind the scenes there's a big overhaul of the enemy movement code for better performance, less bugs and to add support for new features in the future. • New Weapon Added - 6 March 2023

  So we've wanted to add this for a while, and here it is :) This alternative version of the shard cannon will ricochet off enemies multiple times - nowhere is safe. It's especially powerful in enclosed environments, where ceilings and floors can trap the projectiles inside the level. In addition, we've fixed some bugs with the Ripple Shield, and changed how it works with coverage upgrades - it now stays until it is destroyed (power upgrades help it survive more hits as before), but coverage upgrades make it bigger. It also projects further, so bigger isn't always better :P We added an indicator around the ship for the turret direction, to make it slightly easier to track your fire. Additionally, the original shard cannon has slight tracer lines added for additional clarity. Finally, there's some additional information in the upgrade selection screen. • Small Content Patch - 1 March 2023

  Lots of new sound effects have been added with this update, including an excellent suggestion from our testers to indicate when the Phase Shift is off cooldown. In addition there's also now a visual indicator on or near each ship's engines to indicate the phase shift is available so you don't have to look away from the action. Cargo ships with their precious special weapon upgrades also now have a audible indicator they're about to enter the screen, to make it that little bit easier to chase them down. You might also notice the occasional faster version which drops something different... Other small changes: Massively buffed the fire rate on the flicker laser Increased the damage on the standard laser and chain lightning to bring them up match other weapons You can no longer accidentally click the "Expunge" or "Reconfigure" buttons while upgrades are animating

• Oh look, a day one patch - 27 February 2023

  Apologies for those trying to use the game on a controller - that was due to our inexperience with Steam technicalities behind the scenes. Should all be working now. Also included is a fix for enemy spawns on widescreen and ultra-hires displays, so you can actually see what you're shooting now! Finally, we've changed the firing effects for the default shard cannon. The new impact effects for it should make it a bit easier to tell when you're hitting enemies, but the loss of the tracer lines might mean it's no easier to aim. Please let us know - the whole point of the early access is to get feedback for the game. Do you prefer the new or old style?
