- Gorgeous and hazy pixel art horror farming sim Neverway has been pushed to 2027, but you can at least have a gander at some of the NPCs you can smooch - 22 August 2026
Sorry folks, some bad news: Neverway , the horror life sim and RPG combo from one of the artists behind Celeste and the composer of Fez , has been delayed into 2027. While it never had an exact release date anyway, developer Coldblood Inc. shared word of the delay in a Steam blog post earlier this week. Read more
- Release update and a peek into development - 20 August 2026
Hello everyone, We’ve been hard at work on Neverway, but we’ve made the difficult decision to shift the release date to 2027. Our process has always been about understanding what you, as a player, are feeling when you play the game and making sure that aligns with the story. Seeing how the prologue resonated with so many of you, along with internal playtests, inspired us on how the later parts of Neverway could take shape. We want to keep trusting our process and follow the game where it wants to go. This means some of the original chapters and areas grew in a way we hope will meet your expectations. We believe in this game's potential, which is why we decided to take this extra time to make it the very best version it can be. And don’t worry, we don’t plan on growing it any more than that. As much as we love working on Neverway, we know you’re excited to play it too and don’t want to d…
- Neverway doesn't want to be Stardew Valley. Instead, the devs are going as "weird as possible," Larian-style - 29 April 2026
Stardew Valley inspired an entire generation of videogames. It feels like every day we see a new game like Stardew Valley from some obscure developer, most of which are riddled with microtransactions and predatory monetization. But amid the MTX dumpster fire, there are some gems: titles that take the life sim genre to the next level. Neverway is one of those games. Read the full story on PCGamesN: Neverway doesn't want to be Stardew Valley. - Over half a million wishlists! - 27 April 2026
So Neverway just crossed over 500k wishlists on Steam.....!!!! This is such an insane milestone. When we started working on Neverway, we never dreamed that our game would connect with so many people. It's incredibly motivating to see that all of you are enjoying this world we created. We'd also like to thank everyone who played the prologue. We are not able to reply to every comment, but we do our best to read most of them, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to write them down. All the feedback is very valuable to us, and it helps us shape and improve the game going forward. We're now 100% focused on making tons of cool content for the game - we really can't wait to show it to all of you!!! Finally, as our way of saying thanks, we'll take this opportunity to answer a few questions! How long is the final game going to be? Well, turns out that's a very hard thing to predict…

We've updated our graphics libraries to try to remediate this. In the meantime, if you're still experiencing problems, you can try: Right click on "Neverway Prologue" > "Properties..." > "General" Type "/gldevice:Vulkan" or "/gldevice:D3D11" under "Launch Options" There's also a chance that Smart App Control blocks the game from starting in Windows 11, which you can try turning it off. Bugs: - You can no longer duplicate items when pausing and opening a chest at the same time (sorry!) - Your email dates are now correctly displaying after arriving at the island - Fixed some localization strings in Simplified Chinese and Spanish - If any of the controls rely on mouse, force it to stay within the game window - Fix a bug where you co…

- I got murdered by a ladybug in Neverway, and that cemented it as the only game I care about this year - 9 April 2026
I've lived a thousand virtual lives. I've toppled civilizations in Dragon Age; survived a rat-infested France in Plague Tale. I've popped heads as Widowmaker in Overwatch, and gritted my teeth through more League of Legends games than I can count. I consider myself to be a pretty competent gamer: I know what makes a powerful build, and I understand the minutiae of min-maxing. Yet, in Neverway , I was killed by a ladybug. Not once, but twice. It was, at least, a simulated ladybug, but then again, perhaps that just adds some salt to the wound. Read the rest of the story... - Going Hands-On With Neverway—Calm Before The Static Storm - 9 April 2026
On March 20th, 2026, CGM’s Dayna Eileen sent me the trailer for Neverway with the caption “this seems very you.” I’m not totally sure how this one slipped by me during the August 8th, 2025, Nintendo Indie World Showcase, but it’s probably because it was a week away from my wedding, and my mind was on 19 other things But something that’s been consistent about the five years she’s been at CGM is her ability to send things that are simultaneously adorable and profoundly interesting. While Neverway would’ve piqued my interest on aesthetic alone, getting an opportunity to go hands-on with the game absolutely sealed the deal. I’ve said it before, the only thing I like more than a Farming Sim is one with interesting ideas—and this game certainly has them. The hands-on preview for Neverway was brief, essentially acting as an intro tutorial, to give players a general understanding of its gamepla…
- We're BACK at Triple-i! - 18 March 2026

We can't wait to show you what we've been working on. (spoilers: we're very nervous)
- Over 300,000 of you! - 13 November 2025
We want to sincerely THANK YOU for over 300k wishlists on Neverway! This game is filled with things we've always loved in other games (and honestly in movies, manga, pretty much any media) and working on it has been a really fun journey for everyone on the team. Pedro did another super cool drawing of Fiona with ??? to thank everyone! Game development is, indeed, very hard, but seeing the results (both in the game and with everyone's support) makes us forget about all the hard parts. Anyway, we really can't wait to show more of the game!!! We really appreciate all your trust in our small team. See you soon! 🩸 Coldblood Inc. team
- What’s optional in Neverway? - 5 November 2025
Hello! Hope you all had a great time during my favorite time of the year, the spooky season 🎃 Since our last update, everyone on the team is still deep in our dev cave. So, what is that like? Internally, we usually break down the game into “chapters”, so it goes like this: Plan the next chapter → Implement mechanics, cutscenes, maps → Test with people → Go back and adjust feedback to previous chapters This process can take one to two months. Testing is definitely the most important part here. We’re interested in learning what the person is feeling, what they want to do and whether that aligns with what the game wants them to do. Turns out this is very tricky, especially since people can have completely different priorities!! The important part is whether the game can adapt well enough to accommodate what they’re feeling at the time. We obviously have a lot of mechanics in Neverway, suc…
- How to mark your calendar - 9 September 2025
Hello and welcome to yet another update! Our team is back and deep into production >:) Our focus, as usual, has been on balancing the narrative with the gameplay mechanics, and making sure they both progress well together. This entails working on our calendar system. As of today, a year in Neverway is divided into Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, each with 21 days. Here’s our very much still work in progress calendar, so you can have a better idea on how that looks like… Many things can happen in a day, such as the deadline to pay your mortgage, someone’s birthday, or a game night that happens on the last day of the week. The idea is that each event is unlocked as you find out about it. For example, you only learn that there’s a breakfast at Mugs after going there that day, or if someone tells you about it. Pedro also worked on the cutest icons for the characters, which will appear in b…
- Neverway is releasing in 2026! - 7 August 2025
Hello!!!! As you may have noticed, we’re very excited today!!!!!! Neverway was just featured as part of the latest Indie World. Obviously, this means that we’re launching on Nintendo Switch! We also got featured in the Japanese Indie World broadcast, look! The Japanese version turned out quite different from the English one, as it's the first time we’re sharing actual spoilers (!!!) for the story, so probably only watch it if you don’t mind the spoilers. Finally, we're ready to announce that Neverway will release in 2026, for both PC and Nintendo Switch! Definitely scary and exciting. *And* we’re part of this year’s Tiny Teams event, which is super cool for a small team like ours!! Although we won’t participate in the stream showcase, we highly recommend checking out all the other cool games there! So what's next? Anyway! That was A Lot Of Things. Honestly, we're just excited to get bac…
- Breakfast with Aurora - 9 July 2025
Hello again! We thought about explaining a bit more about our characters this time! You'll meet a variety of characters throughout Neverway, who can be either village residents or… something else. For example, here, you might recognize Aurora! She’s not wearing her usual dress - each character can have different outfits, and this is one of hers. Aurora is a scientist. She loves understanding the bizarre occurrences throughout the world around her using rock-hard facts. She can help you study new manuals or find books at her bookshop. She also reads a lot of teenage romance novels. Some of the cutest concepts Pedro has drawn for her. She has breakfast outside her house in the mornings, and you can join her by sitting next to her. One of our foundations in Neverway is to always tie our systems together, so we try to make most of the interactions meaningful in some way. For example, by sit…
- Over 200,000 of you??? - 10 June 2025
So our original goal was to post one update here every month, but then WE GOT 200K WISHLISTS? IN TWO MONTHS???? Seriously, we couldn't be more grateful for all your support. We really love working on this game, and knowing that you're all connecting with it in some way or another means a lot to us. Pedro did this drawing last minute. We had no idea we'd need it so soon. Anyway, I'll keep this very short, this is just our way of saying: thank you
- Summer Game Fest is here! - 7 June 2025
It’s Summer Game Fest time, and it turns out we got to do a lot of cool things! We shared more about our gameplay with lots of new footage at Day of the Devs, and announced that we’re localizing the game to Spanish (!!!) at Latin American Games Showcase. We have even more things to announce in these next few months that we can’t spoil yet, but we’re VERY excited!!! For now, just keep an eye on any upcoming updates here…Fiona is trying her best to survive the Summer. Now let's jump into some content...We previously explained how food works in the game and how you can use it to advance time. So... what else can you do to advance time?As you may already know, time in Neverway is divided into three slots: morning, afternoon and evening. Time does pass a little bit within a slot, but it only actually advances once you explicitly trigger an activity. This activity can be anything like eating, t…
- Eerie Stardew Valley style RPG Neverway is the coolest take on the genre yet - 6 June 2025
The life sim has, perhaps, become one of the most saturated genres out there. Everyone wants a slice of Stardew Valley's success, with games like Disney Dreamlight Valley injecting some Magic Kingdom sparkle, while Witchbrook puts a fantastical, playful horror spin on the genre. Yet, despite my attempts to stick with them in the same way I did Animal Crossing, I've never really found myself becoming #obsessed with any of Stardew's spiritual successors. Then Neverway appeared, and it's exactly what I've been waiting for. Read the rest of the story...
