- Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge says he hopes the next God of War is set in Egypt while making a hypothetical sequel sound pretty unhypothetical: 'I have no doubt that no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great' - 27 October 2025

- Former God of War exec says the blockbuster games industry needs to steer away from spectacle and focus on what matters: 'if it's not fun, it's not worth the investment' - 21 October 2025
It's no secret that Western games development is in the doldrums: the industry has laid off over 45,000 jobs since the COVID bubble burst in 2022, and publishers and studios are scrambling for ways to adapt to rising costs and shifting player priorities. Meanwhile, viral hits from smaller teams—ranging from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 through to Peak—make those billion-dollar companies look old hat, almost like dinosaurs (though it's also true that neither were made by a company whose CEO makes more than $29,000,000 in a year )... - Helldivers 2, Spider-Man 2, and more PlayStation titles have been freed from their region lock prison on PC - 14 June 2025
Sony have been making a lot of mistakes over the past couple of years, including things like mistakenly thinking they could release 12 live service games by 2026 , but the more immediately annoying one is its whole PSN thing. I probably don't need to remind you of that whole Helldivers 2 fiasco, where they tried to make logging into a PSN a requirement for those on PC and later scrapped this because it went down horrendously. However, there has been one other snag that came with all this PSN nonsense: region locking. Read more
- Same-date PC ports of PS5 games remain unlikely, as Sony talk up "thoughtful" multiplatform approach despite Xbox comparisons - 13 June 2025
PlayStation's bigwigs are content to stick with their current approach to multiplatform releases for now, making it unlikely we're going to see a sudden switch to day-and-date PC ports of Sony's big single-player games anytime soon. SlayPtation have been bringing their studios' multiplayer and live-service games to PC at release for a while now, it making sense with the likes of Helldivers 2 and, er, Concord , to try and ensure the maximum potential player base possible right out of the gate. On the other hand, for single player stuff like God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima they've been content to wait a year to bring over to the other video game boxes. Read more
