• Wretched Devs Status Update - 21 September 2023

  I know a lot of people by now are wondering what happened to the game and why we haven't continued working on it as promised, and you all deserve an explanation. Despite some speculation I've seen, the answer is unfortunately boring and simple: It turns out getting a group of post-graduation college students to have enough free time to coordinate continuing development was a lot harder than any of us anticipated. Between full time jobs and grad school across numerous time zones, our coordination just fell apart. It pains me to say there may never be any further development on this game. I'm sorry to everyone who was holding out hope for it. Perhaps one day once our lives have settled, a few others and I may return to our old passion project.   We are excited and proud to announce that Wretched Depths is the recipient of GDWC’s 2023 Summer Season Hobby Award! We would like to thank everyone for supporting our game both while in development and after release! This award means so much to us as many of us are just beginning our careers in the video games industry. What started as our senior year capstone project has grown into something incredible. We plan to take this honor with us into the future as many of us go off to work on existing beloved games and create new titles that bring excitement to our players.   Ver. 1.0.1: Changes: - Sam now automatically equips the gift you can take from a certain NPC Bugfixes: - Fixed an issue where the credits could not be skipped Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying Wretched Depths 1.0. Our team is largely going to be taking a break for a few days before starting any production on 2.0. This is because the majority of us are getting ready for graduation next week. However, we are still going to try to iron out all of the bugs and issues that we have been seeing with the game after the 1.0 release. • Welcome to Wretched Depths 1.0! - 26 April 2023

  Welcome to Wretched Depths 1.0! As mentioned in our last major update post (https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2343240/view/3705942017949640159?) Wretched Depths began as student project for the University of Utah Capstone 2023 class. Our student project is complete, but we have a lot more we would love to give to our community. We are officially releasing 1.0 for our teammates who will not be continuing on the project to allow them to have a finished game within their portfolio, but the rest of the team is very excited to announce the start of work on Wretched Depths 2.0. We plan to include a lot of new content including different endings, new characters, controller support, and general quality of life updates.   Hello there fellow fisher-people, Firstly, from the bottom of all of our hearts here on the development team, we want to say thank you all so much for the amazing response you have given us. • [Hotfix] Tying up some loose ends with 0.6 - 31 March 2023

  Hello everyone. We noticed some players were having some difficulty progressing the game to the comet lure. We have made the event required to unlock this lure a lot easier to come across and fixed a few smaller issues as well. - Made requirements for unlocking the comet lure a lot easier to stumble across - Fixed an issue where the "shrimp" would swim backwards Thank you all for the feedback as always.

• [Hotfix] Camper Interaction While Asleep or Driving now Fixed - 28 March 2023

  Hello! A bug several players found was when you interact with the trailer and choose to drive or sleep, you could quickly press E again to interact a second time has been fixed. This bug resulted in the camper menu being stuck on their screen and essentially locking the game until choosing to go back to the main menu and reloading the game. • Wretched Depths is out for Early Access! - 26 March 2023

  Hello one and all! As most of you should know thanks to Steam's handy dandy notifications, Wretched Depths is available for Early Access playtesting! The initial reactions and feedback for this release have been fantastic! Thank you to everyone who has played so far. We have created an official bugs and issues board under the discussions tab. The already reported bugs are now being handled and will be fixed in an update coming to you shortly. This release is a limited version of our full game. More content will release in future updates.
