• BoxR is out of Early Access - 29 August 2026

  BoxR is out of Early Access. 1.0 is live as of August 29, and the current build is 2.1.0.Classic is still the stacking run, Roguelike is still waves and drafts, and Speedrun is new. Speedrun Classic drops 99 boxes at once, tracks your best clear time, and never saves a death as a record, and Speedrun Roguelite is the same race after five start-only drafts.Windows and Mac. $1.99.

• BoxR on Mac - 27 August 2026

  Mac is up. Apple Silicon only for now, same Classic and Roguelike, same stomp.Windows players, this is the same 2.0 build you already have, just with Mac riding along.Steam Deck is still Proton Experimental, dpad on menus, joystick inverted.No Intel Mac yet.

• BoxR update, boards, hats, and a pile of fixes - 20 August 2026

  Steam Deck: set the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental, and use the dpad on menus, the joystick is inverted right now. Achievements actually talk to Steam now, so the ones you already earned should pop. Roguelike extra life and seismic work like they should, and there are a few new upgrades. Leaderboards for highest Classic level and overall score are in the game. More hats, a better ragdoll when you eat it, music that changes by level, and it launches fullscreen.

• Steam Deck notes + achievements - 20 August 2026

  Steam Deck: set the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental, and use the dpad on menus, the joystick is inverted right now.Achievements were unlocking in game and not talking to Steam. That link is fixed in the next update, relaunch after it lands and the ones you already earned should pop.

• BoxR 2.0 — full remake + Roguelike - 19 August 2026

  I ripped BoxR out of Unreal and rebuilt the whole game.Classic is still the same mean loop. Stomp boxes, every level adds another one, you get greedy, you die. Roguelike is new. Waves, upgrades, and I legit watched myself hoard ten powerups and still eat a box I saw coming.Hats, skins, five biomes, controller, cloud save, 28 achievements if you want to be a nerd about it. Title screen says BOXR now. Update and go stomp. #boxrScore if you somehow clear 20. #boxrDeath if it was dumb.

• Game Release - 29 August 2023

  Hi, The game is finally getting released for early access. Initially, the game was made in UE 5.0, then updated to 5.1, and now is in 5.2. The core gameplay loop is done with the ability to unlock hats and skins for the blocks. Right now there are only two hats available. I'll add hats and block skins once I find out how the game feels. I want to add a settings page since the game can be taxing on the system. Just waiting on steam pricing review and then it should be released.
