• Carnival demo update! - 16 October 2024

  To celebrate SPOOKY SEASON and Carnival being featured in the Steam Next Fest, the demo has been updated with some new puzzles, VGA close ups, and the first part of the fantastic original score by Bernardo Uzeda. Carnival is an atmospheric folk horror point-&-click featuring low-resolution pixel art graphics, locations drawn from Venice itself, and developing relationships with NPCs, allowing the player to influence events in the game and achieve multiple different endings. • Abscission wins 3 AGS Awards! - 25 March 2024

  On a night to remember, Abscission swept the AGS awards 2023, picking up Best Audio, Best Gameplay, and the coveted Best Game of the Year 2023. The Pale Queen would be proud. To celebrate, Abscission is on sale for a week at 25% off. Thank you to everyone who voted and who has supported me during the development of Abscission. It's an eldritch dream come true!

  Abscission has been nominated in four categories for the AGS awards - Best Audio, Best Gamplay, Best Programming and Best Game of the Year! Previous award winners include Resonance, Technobabylon, Whispers of a Machine, Gemini Rue, Nightmare Frames, Kathy Rain, 5 Days a Stranger, and others. Just to be considered is a dream come true! • Bug fixes - 11 November 2023

  Bug fixes - thank you Arglschuffni and Nanako - Now includes messages for unhandled events - An item location now more obvious - Fixed issue where if the menu was displayed by pressing escape in a location, the character would only be able to walk using hotspots. - Fixed some spelling mistakes - Fixed an item reappearing Also added overdue credit to Dark Fantasy Studio for the great music :)

• Inventory tweak - 7 November 2023

  - Updated the inventory to reduce size and make navigation back to game world easier. - Red crystals used to navigate inventory up and down. - Change will take effect when starting a new game.

  A huge thank you to everyone who has bought, played, and helped me to improve Abscission through their feedback. It's been more successful than I dared to hope, and I'm excited for the future of Beyond Booleans. I am already working on my second game, which will have a far shorter gestation period (though I can't make a guess at the release date yet). • Bug fixes - 03.11.2023 - 3 November 2023

  Several bugs fixed (I've tried not to give away spoliers) - some of these may not take effect until a new playthrough is started: - being able to re-enter the tattoo parlour following the choleric option - Stanhope checking on Luna when she isn't there - Being able to move around in the attic when you shouldn't be able to! - The inventory not displaying the names of items when the mouse is over them - Some empty descriptions - Some missing interactions Thank you to Cat and Baomai1411 for their help with finding these issues :)

  Abscission is now available on Steam! Guide Detective Will Stanhope through this Lovecraftian horror point & click adventure in classic 320 x 200 pixel art, using four different temperaments to find out the grisly secrets that lie hidden within the town of Ashfield.
