• It's easier to change difficulty with this new update! - 31 May 2023

  Surprise, everyone! It's a new malViolence update. We've received a few comments about making the difficulty change more obvious - so we've done just that. If you're playing malViolence for the first time, the difficulty selection will now be in the pop-up menu that appears just before the game starts! Additionally, with saves made after this update, there will be a difficulty indicator in the top-right corner of your save screenshot. That way, you can track the difficulty of your save files. However, saves made before this update won't have this indicator. Please keep this in mind! Also... I don't know if I mentioned this, but I removed the malViolence puzzle guide from the game's folder. This was for two reasons: a) People struggled to find it b) The lovely wBrianthepyro turned the entire document into an official Steam Guide! • Achievements, FailSafes, and Fixes, Oh My! - 21 May 2023

  Alright - a new malViolence build is here for you to play! We took a look at user feedback through reviews both here and on Itch.io, and we've added a couple of new fixes and features to make puzzling much more pleasant. Here's what's new: - All achievements in-game should now display correctly! - Room 1's marble animations are now fixed! - Tooltips have been added to a couple of selections on the Options Menu... ...which leads me to our biggest announcement - "Failsafes!" If you want the authentic malViolence puzzling experience, but don't want the looming threat of a Game Over - check the "Failsafe" option in the Options Menu. You can find it under the "Puzzle Skip" option. When you check this button - most of the puzzles will gain a Reset button, and all puzzle-related game-overs will be gone. That way, you can enjoy the puzzles at your own pace. We hope you enjoy this new update! -M…

• The Evidence Board Reset has arrived! - 20 May 2023

  Yup - it's now here! The Evidence Board puzzle now has a reset button. This (and the other parts of this update) were always intended to be in malViolence - but we had to prioritize certain things over others during the pre-release crunch. So, as follows - here's what's new and fixed: - The Evidence Board puzzle has a reset button. - A certain bug with the bomb and misé-en-place puzzles have been fixed. Your progress won't be reset if you save mid-puzzle, change the difficulty, then load your old save again. - A couple of spelling errors towards the end of the game. Anyhoo, we apologize for the wait on this! We all hope this makes the puzzles feel more fun and fairer to the player. • Panopticon Achievement Fix! - 18 May 2023

  Exactly what it says on the tin. Now the panopticon will count towards difficulty-related achievements. Also, expect more fixes and small QOL tweaks in the coming days! Me and my team are currently adding a reset button for the evidence board puzzle, among other things. -Mado
