• Type King Update 1.40 - 12 May 2024

  Some stuff helping speedrunning as well as general quality of life improvements. You can now return to language/save slot selection from the main menu. Save slots can now be emptied/deleted to start again. In the Fastest Times window there is now an additional view with the sum of fastest times shown for different categories: Whole Game (->15 Crowns) Nightmare (->5 Governors) Singleplayer (->12 Crowns) Multiplayer (->3 Crowns) Singleplayer Easy (->4 Crowns) Singleplayer Normal (->4 Crowns) Singleplayer Hard (->4 Crowns) Singleplayer Nightmare (->4 Governors) We are also setting up these categories (in addition to each level separately) into speedrun.com so that you people can challenge each other!

• Type King Update 1.31 - 6 May 2024

  Some small changes to help speedrunning! Smaller stuff: In pause menu you can now Restart floor with R key. Restart option added to Victory screen. Fixed a bug where you could open the pause menu after the Victory animation had already started.

• Type King Localization Update 1.30 - 26 April 2024

  With Nightmare difficulty done we have focused on localization. We have just added support for French, German, Spanish and Portuguese! Type King now supports a total of six languages!

• Nightmare difficulty out now! - 1 April 2024

  The feedback hasn't really been to make the game harder but we have seen some people enjoy the game instead of simply struggling with it and thought that needs to be fixed. There is now a Nightmare difficulty in the game which unlocks after you've beaten any game mode in the Hard difficulty. This is completely free update which is now included in the base game. Simply update the game to access this new difficulty. How is Nightmare harder? For Typing game mode you are now only allowed six mistakes before needing to start the floor again. The texts are also quite hard to type since there seems to be some brain fog going on. For other game modes the biggest change is the moving platforms.

• Type King Update 1.20 - 17 March 2024

  Again smaller stuff while working on the Nightmare Difficulty. Smaller stuff: Typo King achievement had broken along the way and is now fixed. Crowns weren't shown correctly in the Main Menu after the game was won.

• Type King Update 1.19 - 8 March 2024

  Mostly smaller stuff while working on the Nightmare Difficulty. Smaller stuff: Input field was active behind the In-game menu which made typing platforms possible while game was paused. In rare cases the jumping with arrow keys messed up the input field. This one is tricky. With the fix it's hopefully solid enough that the times it still happens it can be blamed on fickle magic. Input field not being active/focused. This should be fixed with pausing and resuming the game. Earlier only restarting the game seemed to fix this.

• Type King Update 1.18 - 1 March 2024

  Type King is out now! Continuing with updates as usual. This time some balancing as well. 1.17 Bigger stuff: Remade the Fastest Times window to look better. 1.18 Balancing: Based on feedback received we made the game modes combining typing and jumping (Type King L, Type King R and Multiplayer) slightly easier. There is now a bit more time before the platforms disintegrate and in the hardest difficulty there are now two checkpoint floors instead of only one (splitting the tower into three segments instead of two). Smaller stuff: Bug fix to Multiplayer game mode. In rare occurrences similar words were spawning next to each other and only the above one could be typed -> prevented progression. • Type King out now! - 29 February 2024

  Type King just released! Get it now and prove that you have what it takes to be the King! There is also a free demo you can try before buying! The demo includes all of the game modes on the easiest difficulty. We have been hard at work with fixing bugs and delivering new features based on feedback. This will not end with the release and we eagerly await more feedback from you players! There are also rumors of another island within the Kingdom that pushes the difficulty even further. As if the game wasn't hard enough already. We still need some time to confirm the rumors as we have sent an explorer to rummage the ocean in hopes of finding this lost part of the Kingdom but they have yet to return. We are also slowly shifting gears towards localization as the texts used in the game begin to stabilize. Which languages should we prioritize?

• Type King Update 1.16 - 25 February 2024

  Release is coming closer and closer! Here are a few features based on feedback : ) Bigger stuff: All the game modes can now be restarted from the in-game menu. For Typing Only game mode the restart is for the floor and not the whole level. Added a menu for showing the fastest times you have beaten different game modes and difficulties in. This only affects victories after this update however so if you had a fast time before it unfortunately won't show there. Smaller stuff: A small fix to an oversight on how often platforms are remade after falling. Now it works as intended in the previous update.

• Type King Update 1.15 - 18 February 2024

  As before now that there are people already playing I thought I let you guys know what each update includes. We are getting closer and closer to the release! Bigger stuff: Tutorial window added at the start of each game mode to show what buttons are used and also some things to note with the game mode chosen. The tutorial texts might get refined in the future but now there is place for them at least. The floor can now be restarted in Typing game mode from the Pause Menu. No need to wait the time to end if you already know you messed up. Smaller stuff: Increased the time it takes to make new platforms between falling. Previously the platforms were re-created almost every time you fell but now you should have some time to retry the previous ones. Small fixes to element locations and achievements.

• Type King Update 1.14 - 11 February 2024

  Since there are already people testing out the Demo and also some people have gotten access to the whole version (via Keymailer) I thought I'd let you guys know about the updates going forward. Bigger stuff: New stories for Easy and Normal difficulty in Typing game mode. There was quite some feedback on the Easy difficulty being too long and therefore hard. It is now significantly shorter to match the easier difficulty better. Highlights in the menu when selecting game modes. This is to better show how the map has a section for each game mode + difficulty. Also making it easier to find which you still haven't won. In the future it may be possible to start the games directly from the map, although that means you'll skip the explanations for them (so maybe after you've beaten some games?) • Demo of Type King available now! - 5 February 2024

  The demo includes the Easy difficulty of all the game modes so there is plenty to play while waiting for the release! We’ve been hard at work fine tuning the game and just added an option for a more easy to read font based on feedback we received. • Type King releases on February 29th - 1 January 2024

  Happy new year everyone! We’ll start off the year by announcing a release date for Type King. Take out your calendars and mark February 29th with something mysterious like “very important” and hopefully that takes care of that. Type King will also participate in Steam Next Fest starting February 5th so there will be a demo to try already before the release. The demo will include the Easy difficulty of each game mode so effectively one third of the game! Stay tuned for that! We’ll be working hard on the game until release but aim to shift focus on localization after release so let us know what languages you’d like to see Type King translated to! On launch we'll support English and Finnish.
